shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. JAS. v. 13-15.

255. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. JAS. v. 16.

256. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

1 PET. iv. 12—14.

257. If any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 PET. iv. 16.

258. Let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. 1 PET. iv. 19.

259. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 PET. v. 6, 7.

260. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 PET. v. 10.

261. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten be zealous therefore, and repent. REV. iii. 19.

262. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. REV. vii. 13—17.

263. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in

the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

REV. xiv. 12, 13.

264. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. REV. xxi. 4.

265. There shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. REV. xxii. 3—5.
