31 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Laßt uns besonders in eine Wüste gehen, und ruhet ein wenig. Denn ihrer waren viele, die ab und zugiengen; und hat ten nicht Zeit genug zu essen.

32 Und er fuhr da in einem Schiffe zu einer Wüste besonders.

33 Und das Volk sah sie wegfahren; und viele kannten ihn, und liefen daselbst hin mit einander zu Fuß aus allen Städten, und kamen ihnen zuvor, und kamen zu ihnen.

34 Und Jesus gieng heraus, und fah das grosse Volk; und es jammerte ihn derselben, denn sie waren wie die Schafe, die feinen Hirten haben; und fieng an eine lange Predigt.

35 Da nun der Tag fast dahin war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm, und sprachen: Es ist wüste hier, und der Tag ist nun dahin.

36 Laß sie von dir, daß sie hingehen umher in die Dörfer und Märkte, und kaufen ihnen Brod; denn sie haben nichts zu essen.

-37 Jesus aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Gebt ihr ihnen zu essen. Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Sollen wir denn hingehen, und zweh hundert Pfenningwerth Brod kaufen, und ihnen zu essen geben?

38 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wie viele Brod habt ihr? Gehet hin und sehet. Und da sie es erkundet hatten, sprachen ste: Fünf, und zween Fische.

39 Und er gebot ihnen, daß sie sich alle lagerten, bey Tischen voll, auf das grüne Gras.

40 Und sie setzten sich nach Schichten, je hundert und hundert, fünfzig und fünfzig.

41 Und er nahm die fünf Brode, und zween Fische, und sah auf gen him mel, und dankte, und brach die Brode, und gab sie den Jüngern, daß sie ihnen vorlegten, und die zween Fische theilte er unter fie allé.

31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to

eat.

32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. 35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread for they have nothing to eat.

37. He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

41 And when he had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

42 Und sie assen alle, und wurden fatt.

43 Und sie hoben auf die Brocken, zwölf Körbe voll, und von den Fischen.

44 Und die da gegessen hatten, deren waren fünf tausend Mann.

45 Und alsobald trieb er seine Jünger, daß sie in das Schiff träten, und vor ihm hinüber führen gen Bethsaida, bis daß er das Volk von sich liesse.

46 Und da er sie von sich geschaffet hatte, gieng er hin auf einen Berg zu

beten.

47 Und am Abend war das Schiff mitten auf dem Meere, und er auf dem Lande allein.

48 Und er sah, daß sie Noth litten im Rudern; denn der Wind war ihnen entgegen, und um die vierte Wache der Nacht tam er zu ihnen, und wandelte auf dem Meere.

49 Und er wollte vor ihnen über gehen. Und da sie ihn fahen auf dem Meere wandeln; mehneten sie, es wäre ein Gespenst, und schrien.

50 Denn sie sahen ihn alle, und erschraken. Aber alsobald redete er mit ihnen, und sprach zu ihnen: Sehd getrost; ich bin es, fürchtet euch nicht.

51 Und trat zu ihnen in das Schiff, und der Wind legte sich. Und sie entsetzten und verwunderten sich über die Maaße.

52 Denn sie wären nichts verständigerge worden über den Broden, und ihr Herz war verstarret.

53 Und da sie hinüber gefahren waren, kamen sie in das Land Geneza reth, und fuhren an.

54 Und da sie aus dem Schiffe traten, alsobald kannten ste ihn;

55 und liefen alle in die umliegenden Länder, und hoben an die Kranken umher zu führen auf Betten, wo sie höreten, daß er war.

56 und wo er in die Märkte oder

42 And they did all eat, and were filled.

43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

44 And they that did eat of the loaves, were about five thousand

men.

45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out.

50 (For they all saw him, and were troubled.) And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. 54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. 56 And whithersoever he en

Das 7 Capitel. Und es kamen zu ihm die Pharifäer, und efliche, bon den Schriftgelehr ten, die von Jerusalem gekommen

waren.

2 Und da sie fahen etliche seiner Jünger mit gemeinen, das ist, mit un gewaschenen Händen das Brod essen, besprachen sie es.

3 Denn die Pharifäer und alle Juden essen nicht, sie waschen denn die Hände manchmal; halten also die Aufsätze der Aeltesten.

4 Und wann sie vom Markte kom men, effen sie nicht, sie waschen fich denn. Und des Dings ist viel, das sie zu halten haben angenommen, von Trinkgefäffen, und Krügen, und eher nen Gefässen, und Tischen zu waschen.

5 Da fragten ihn nun die Pharifäer und Schriftgelehrten: Warum wandeln deine Jünger nicht nach den Aufsätzen der Aeltesten; sondern essen das Brod mit ungewaschenen Händen?

6 Er aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Wohl sein hat von euch heuchlern Jesaias geweisfaget, wie geschrie ben stehet: Dieß Volk ehret mich mit den Lippen, aber ihr Herz ist ferne von

mir.

7 Vergeblich aber ist es, daß ste mir dienen, dieweil sie lehren solche Lehre, die nichts ist, denn Menschengebot.

8 Ihr verlasset Gottes Gebot, und haltet der Menschen Aufsätze, von Krügen und Trinkgefässen zu waschen; und deßgleichen thut ihr viel.

9 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wohl fein habt ihr Gottes Gebot aufgehoben, auf daß ihr eure Aufsätze haltet.

10 Denn Moses hat gesagt: Du

CHAPTER VII.

THEN came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Je

2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled (that is to say, with unwashen) hands, they found fault.

3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, and brazen vessels, and tables.

5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

10 For Moses said, Honour thy

11 Ihr aber lehret: Wenn einer spricht zum Vater oder Mutter: Corban, das ist, wenn ichs opfere, so ist dirs viel nützer; der thut wohl.

12 Und so laßt ihr hinfort ihn nichts thun seinem Vater oder seiner Mutter;

13 Und hebet auf Gottes Wort durch eure Aufsätze, die ihr aufgesetzt habt, und deßgleichen thut ihr viel.

14 Und er rief zu ihm das ganze Volk, und sprach zu ihnen: Höret mir alle zu, und vernehmet es.

15 Es ist nichts auffer dem Menschen, das ihn könnte unrein machen, so es in ihn gehet; sondern das von ihm ausgehet, das ist es, das den Menschen unrein macht.

16 Hat Jemand Ohren zu hören, der höre.

17 Und da er von dem Volke ins Haus kam, fragten ihn seine Jünger um dieses Gleichniß.

18 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Sehd ihn denn auch so unverständig? Vernehmet ihr noch nicht, daß alles, was aussen ist, und in den Menschen gehet, das kann ihn nicht unrein machen?

19 Denn es gehet nicht in sein Herz, sondern in den Bauch, und gehet aus durch den natürlichen Gang, der alle Speise ausfeget.

20 Und er sprach: Was aus dem Menschen gehet, das macht den Men schen unrein.

11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

12 And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother;

13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

14 T And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand.

15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him: 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

24 ¶ And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre

don; und gieng in ein Haus, und wollte es Niemand wissen lassen, und fonnte doch nicht verborgen seyn.

25 Denn ein Weib hatte von ihm gehöret, welcher Töchterlein einen unsaubern Geist hatte, und sie kam, und fiel nieder zu seinen Füssen;

26 (Und es war ein griechisch Weib aus Shrophonice) und sie bat ihn, daß er den Teufel von ihrer Tochter austriebe.

27 Jesus aber sprach zu ihr: Laß zuvor die Kinder satt werden; es ist nicht fein, daß man der Kinder Brod nehme, und werfe es vor die Hunde.

28 Sie antwortete aber, und sprach zu ihm: Ja, Herr; aber doch essen die Hündlein unter dem Tische von den Brosamen der Kinder.

29 Und er sprach zu ihr: Um des Worts willen so gehe hin, der Teufel ist von deiner Tochter ausgefahren.

30 und sie gieng hin in ihr Haus, und fand, daß der Teufel war ausgefahren, und die Tochter auf dem Bette liegend.

31 Und da er wieder ausgieng von den Grenzen Thrus und Sidon, kam er an das Galiläische Meer, mitten unter die Grenze der zehn Städte.

32 Und sie brachten zu ihm einen Tauben, der stumm war, und sie baten ihn, daß er die Hand auf ihn legte,

33 Und er nahm ihn von dem Volke befonders, und legte ihm die Finger in die Ohren, und spützete, und rührete seine Zunge,

34 Und sah auf gen Himmel, seufzete, und sprach zu ihm: Hephatha, das ist, thue dich auf.

35 lnd alsobald thaten sich seine Ohren auf, und das Band seiner Zunge ward los, und redete recht.

36 Und er verbot ihnen, sie sollten es Niemand sagen. Je mehr er aber verbot, je mehr sie es ausbreiteten,

37 Und verwunderten sich über die

and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26 (The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation,) and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

29 And he said unto her, For this saying, go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

31 T And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand up

33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into. his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue :

34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

37 And were beyond measure
