Und es ward verfinstert die Sonne und die Luft von dem Rauche des Brunnens. 3 Und aus dem Rauche kamen Heuschrecken auf die Erde. Und ihnen ward Macht gegeben, wie die Scorpionen auf Erden Macht haben. 4 Und es ward zu ihnen gesagt, daß fle nicht beleidigten das Gras auf Erden, noch kein Grünes, noch keinen Baum; sondern allein die Menschen, die nicht haben das Siegel Gottes an ihren Stirnen. 5 Und es ward ihnen gegeben, daß ste sie nicht tödteten, sondern sie quäleten fünf Monate lang. Und ihre Qual war wie eine Qual vom Scorpion, wenn er einen Menschen hauet. 6 Und in denselbigen Tagen werden die Menschen den Tod suchen, und nicht finden; und werden begehren zu sterben, und der Tod wird von ihnen fliehen. 7 und die Heuschrecken sind gleich den Roffen, die zum Kriege bereitet sind; und auf ihren Häuptern wie Kronen dem Golde gleich, und ihre Antlitze gleich der Menschen Antlitze. I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them: 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 und hatten Haare wie Weiberhaare, und ihre Zähne waren wie der Löwen. 9 und hatten Panzer wie eiserne Panzer; und das Rasseln ihrer Flügel wie das Rasseln an den Wagen vieler Roffe, die in den Krieg laufen. 10 und hatten Schwänze gleich den Scorpionen, und es waren Stacheln an ihren Schwänzen; und ihre Macht war zu beleidigen die Menschen fünf Monate lang. 11 Und hatten über sich einen König, einen Engel aus dem Abgrunde; deß Name heißt auf Ebräisch Abaddon, und auf Griechisch hat er den Namen Apollyon. 12 Ein Wehe ist dahin; siehe, es komnien noch zwey Wehe nach dem. 13 Und der sechste Engel posaunete. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it my belly was bitter. 11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. Und sie stiegen auf in den Himmel in einer Wolke, und es sahen sie ihre Feinde. 13 Und zu derselbigen Stunde ward ein großes Erdbeben, und das zehnte Theil der Stadt fiel, und wurden er tödtet in der Erdbebung sieben taufend Namen der Menschen. Und die andern erschraken, und gaben Ehre dem Gott des Himmels. 14 Das andere Wehe ist dahin; siehe, das dritte Wehe kommt schnell. 15 Und der siebente Engel posaunete.
