So Jemand das Thier anbetet, und fein Bild, und nimmt das Mahlzeichen an seine Stirn, oder an seine Hand, 10 Der wird von dem Weine des Zorns Gottes trinken, der eingeschenkt und lauter ist in seines Zorns Kelche, und wird gequälet werden mit Feuer und Schwefel, vor den heiligen Engeln, und vor dem Lamme.

11 Und der Rauch ihrer Qual wird aufsteigen von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit. Und ste haben keine Ruhe Tag und Nacht, die das Thier haben angebetet, und fein Bild, und so Jemand hat das Mahlzeichen seines Namens angenommen. 12 Hier ist Geduld der Heiligen; hier sind, die da halten die Gebote Gottes und den Glauben an Jesum.

13 Und ich hörete eine Stimme vom Himmel zu mir sagen: Schreibe: Selig sind die Todten, die in dem Herrn sterben, von nun an. Ja, der Geist spricht, daß sie ruhen von ihrer Arbeit; denn ihre Werke folgen ihnen nach.

14 Und ich sah, und stehe, eine weiße Wolke, und auf der Wolke sitzen einen, der gleich war eines Menschen Sohne; der hatte eine goldene Krone auf seinem Haupte, und in seiner Hand eine scharfe Sichel.

15 Und ein anderer Engel ging aus dem Tempel, und schrie mit großer Stimme zu dem, der auf der Wolke saß: Schlage an mit deiner Sichel, und ernte. Denn die Zeit zu ernten ist gekommen. Denn die Ernte der Erde ist dürre geworden.

16 Und der auf der Wolke saß, schlug an mit seiner Sichel an die Erde; und die Erde ward geerntet.

17 Und ein anderer Engel ging aus dem Tempel im Himmel, der hatte eine scharfe Hippe.

18 Und ein anderer Engel ging aus dem Altare, der hatte Macht über das Feuer, und rief mit großem Geschreh zu dem, der die scharfe Hippe hatte, und sprach: Schlage an mit deiner

any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

14 And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle,

scharfen Hippe, und schneide die Trauben auf der Erde, denn ihre Beeren sind reif.

19 Und der Engel schlug an mit feiner Hippe an die Erde, und schnitt die Reben der Erde, und warf sie in die große Kelter des Zorns Gottes.

20 Und die Kelter ward außer der Stadt gefeltert; und das Blut ging von der Kelter bis an die Zäume der Pferde, durch tausend fechs hundert Feldweges.

and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great wine-press of the wrath of God.

20 And the wine-press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the wine-press, even unto the horse-bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

3 Und sangen das Lied Mosis, des Knechtes Gottes, und das Lied des Lammes, und sprachen: Groß und wundersam sind deine Werke, Herr, allmächtiger Gott! Gerecht und wahr haftig sind deine Wege, du König der Heiligen!

4 Wer soll dich nicht fürchten, Herr, und deinen Namen preisen? Denn du bist allein heilig. Denn alle Heiden werden kommen, und anbeten vor dir; denn deine Urtheile sind offenbar geworden.

5 Darnach sah ich, und stehe, da ward aufgethan der Tempel der Hütte des Zeugnißes im Himmel.

6 Und gingen aus dem Tempel die sleben Engel, die die sieben Plagen hatten, angethan mit reiner heller Leinwand, und umgürtet ihre Brüste mit goldenen Gürteln.

CHAPTER XV.

ND I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

5 And after that I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

7 And one of the four beasts

8 Und der Tempel ward voll Nauchs vor der Herrlichkeit Gottes, und vor seiner Kraft; und Niemand konnte in den Tempel gehen, bis daß die sieben Plagen der sieben Engel vollendet wurden.

Und ich hörete eine große Stimme

aus dem Tempel, die sprach zu den sieben Engeln: Gehet hin, und gießet aus die Schalen des Zorns Gottes auf die Erde.

2 Und der Erste ging hin, und goß seine Schale aus auf die Erde. ind es ward eine böse und arge Drüse an den Menschen, die das Mahlzeichen des Thiers hatten, und die fein Bild anbeteten.

3 Und der andere Engel goß aus feine Schale ins Meer. Und es ward Blut, als eines Todten; und alle lebendige Seele starb in dem Meere.

4 Und der dritte Engel goß aus seine Schale in die Wasserströme, und in die Wasserbrunnen. Und es ward Blut.

5 Und ich hörete den Engel sagen: Herr, du bist gerecht, der da ist, und der da war, und heilig, daß du solches geurtheilet hast.

6 Denn sie haben das Blut der Heiligen und der Propheten vergoffen, und Blut hast du ihnen zu trinken gegeben, denn sie sind es werth.

7 Und ich hörete einen andern Engel aus dem Altare sagen: Ja, Herr, allmächtiger Gott, deine Gerichte sind wahrhaftig und gerecht.

8 Und der vierte Engel goß aus seine Schale in die Sonne; und ward ihm gegeben, den Menschen heiß zu machen mit Feuer.

9 Und den Menschen ward heiß vor großer Hitze, und lästerten den Namen Gottes, der Macht hat über diese Plagen; und thaten nicht Buße, ihm die Ehre zu geben.

golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. 8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

CHAPTER XVI.

ND I heard a great voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man; and every living soul died in the sea.

4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters: and they became blood.

5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10 Und der fünfte Engel goß aus seine Schale auf den Stuhl des Thiers. Und sein Reich ward verfinstert; und fle zerbissen ihre Zungen vor Schmerzen,

11 Und lästerten Gott im Himmel vor ihren Schmerzen und vor ihren Drüsen, und thaten nicht Buße für ihre Werke.

12 Und der sechste Engel goß aus feine Schale auf den großen Wasserstrom Euphrat, und das Wasser vertrocknete; auf daß bereitet würde der Weg den Königen von Aufgang der Sonne.

13 Und ich sah aus dem Munde des Drachen, und aus dem Munde des Thiers, und aus dem Munde des falschen Propheten, drch unreine Geister gehen, gleich den Fröschen.

14 Und sind Geister der Teufel; die thun Zeichen, und gehen aus zu den Königen auf Erden, und auf den ganzen Kreis der Welt, sie zu verfammeln in den Streit, auf jenen großzen Tag Gottes, des Allmächtigen.

15 Siehe, ich komme wie ein Dieb. Selig ist, der da wachet und hält seine Kleider, daß er nicht bloß wandle, und man nicht seine Schande sehe.

16 Und er hat ste versammelt an einen Ort, der da heißt auf Ebräisch Harmageddon.

17 Und der siebente Engel goß aus feine Schale in die Luft. Und es ging aus eine Stimme vom Himmel aus dem Stuhle, die sprach: Es ist geschehen.

18 Und es wurden Stimmen, und Donner, und Blitze; und ward ein großes Erdbeben, daß solches nicht gewesen ist, seit der Zeit Menschen auf Erden gewesen sind, solches Erdbeben also groß.

19 Und aus der großen Stadt wurden dreh Theile, und die Städte der Heiden fielen. Und Babylon der großen ward gedacht vor Gott, ihr zu geben den Kelch des Weins von seinem grimmigen Zorne.

20 Und alle Inseln entflohen, und keine Berge wurden gefunden.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth, and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21 Und ein großer Hagel, als ein Zentner, fiel vom Himmel auf die Menschen. Und die Menschen lästerten Gott über der Plage des Hagels, denn seine Plage ist sehr groß.

Das 17 Capitel.

Und es kam einer von den sieben En

gelu, die die sieben Schalen hatten, redete mit mir, und sprach zu mir: Komm, ich will dir zeigen das Urtheil der großen Hure, die da auf vielen Wassern sitzt;

2 Mit welcher gehuret haben die Könige auf Erden, und die da wohnen auf Erden, trunken geworden sind von dem Weine ihrer Hurerey.

3 Und er brachte mich im Geiste in die Wüste. Und ich sah das Weib sitzen auf einem rosinfarbenen Thiere, das war voll Namen der Lästerung, und hatte sieben Häupter und zehn Hörner.

4 Und das Weib war bekleidet mit Scharlach und Rosinfarbe; und übergoldet mit Golde und Edelgesteinen, und Perlen; und hatte einen goldenen Becher in der Hand, voll Gräuels und Unfauberkeit ihrer Hurereh;

5 Und an ihrer Stirn geschrieben den Namen, das Geheimniß, die große Babylon, die Mutter der Hurereh und aller Gräuel auf Erden.

6 Und ich sah das Weib trunken von dem Blute der Heiligen, und von dem Blute der Zeugen Jesu. Und ich verwunderte mich sehr, da ich ste sah.

7 Und der Engel sprach zu mir: Warum verwunderst du dich? Ich will dir sagen das Geheimniß von dem Weibe, und von dem Thiere, das sie trägt, und hat sieben Häupter und zehn Hörner.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

CHAPTER XVII.

AND there came one of the

seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; Í will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters;

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarletcoloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet-colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? Í will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads, and ten horns.
