Wer fann Sünden vergeben, denn allein Gott? 8 Und Jesus erkannte alsobald in feinem Geiste, daß sie also gedachten bey sich selbst; und sprach zu ihnen: Was gedenfet ihr solches in euren Sherzen? 9 Welches ist leichter, zu dem Gichtbrüchigen zu sagen: Dir sind deine Sünden vergeben; oder: Stehe auf, nimm dein Bett, und wandle? 10 Auf daß ihr aber wisset, daß des Menschen Sohn Macht habe, zu vergeben die Sünden auf Erden, sprach er zu dem Gichtbrüchigen : 11 Ich sage dir, stehe auf, nimm dein Bett, und gehe heim. 12 Und alsobald stand er auf, nahm fein Bett, und gieng hinaus vor allen; also, daß sie sich alle entsetzten, und priesen Gott, und sprachen : Wir haben folches noch nie gesehen. 13 Und er gieng wiederum hinaus an das Meer; und alles Volk kam zu ihm, und er lehrete ste. 14 Und da Jesus vorüber gieng, fah er Levi, den Sohn Alphäi, am Zolle sitzen; und sprach zu ihm: Folge mir nach.
