And let us not be weary in well-doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.
11. Ye see how large a letter I have written to you with mine own hand. 12. Whoever desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, (or the rites of the law), constrain you to be circumcised, only to avoid persecution for (depending for salvation on) the cross of Christ. 13. For they themselves who are circumcised keep not the (Mosaic) law; but desire to have you circumcised, to glory in (this mark in) your flesh. 14. But God forbid that I should glory (in any thing), unless it be in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, (for salvation), by which the world is crucified to me, (seemingly dead and insipid, as I have no desire for its enjoyments), so I am crucified to the world, (as I cannot relish or partake in its pleasures and pursuits). 15. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. (Eph. ii. 10. 2 Cor. v. 17.) 16. And whoever walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and on the true Israel of God.
17. Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus, (in wounds, by sufferings).
18. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

ST. PAUL'S EPISTLE TO THE
: CHAP. I.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints at Ephesus, even the faithful in (the gospel of) Christ Jesus: 2. Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly things in Christ; 4. As he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before him, in love (to God and man). 5. And appointed us before to the adoption of children, by Jesus Christ, for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6. To the praise of his. glorious grace, whereby he made us accepted in the beloved Son; 7. By whom we have redemption, through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8. Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and understanding; 9. Making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he before purposed in himself; 10. That, when the time appointed was fully come, he might re-unite under one head all things under Christ, both in heaven and on earth. 11. By whom also we have obtained an inheritance, (grace here, and glory hereafter), being before appointed (to it) according to his purpose, who works all things agreeable to the council of his own will; 12. That we, who first trusted in Christ, should be devoted to the praise of his glory. 13. In whom ye also trusted, having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, (by his gifts and graces), 14. Who is the earnest of our inheritance, (by his joys, as a foretaste), till the redemption (of those from death, that are) purchased (for his) possession, to the praise of his glorious grace. 15. For this cause I also having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love to all the saints, 16. Cease not to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers; 17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; 18. The eyes of your understanding being (thereby) enlightened to know how great the hope is to which he hath called you, and what are the glorious riches of the inheritance of his saints, 19. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21. Far above all angelic principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that hereafter. 22. Having put all things under his feet, (in subjection), and made him head over all things for the good of the church, 23. Which is his mystical body (temple or chosen dwelling) which he completely fills as his; yea, all persons in all places, with gifts and graces.
WHAT WE WEHE BY NATURE.
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins, (under the dominion of your sinful dispositions); 2. In which ye formerly walked according to the course of this world, (Gal. i. 4.) according to (the will of Satan) the prince of the power of the air, (Job i. 19.) the spirit that worketh in the wicked that are disobedient (to God); 3. Amongst whom also we all had formerly our course of life, in the lusts of our flesh, (or sinful disposition); fulfilling the dictates of the flesh, and of the passions; and were by nature the heirs of w.ath, even as others. 4. But God, being rich in mercy, according to his great love toward us, 5. Even when we were dead in sins, he quickened us together with Christ, (by the virtue of his resurrection, and union, and communion with him in it, and by conformity to him, we are dead to sin, or freed from its dominion); by grace ye are saved; 6. And he raised us up together, (by virtue of this union), and (thereby) made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (as our Head, Representative, and Forerunner); 7. That he might shew in the ages to come, the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us, through Jesus Christ. 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9. Not by works, lest any man should boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created anew in Christ Jesus to good works, as God before ordained us to walk in them.
11. Wherefore remember, ye were formerly Gentiles, (living) in (the lusts of) the flesh, being called The uncircumcised, by them who were called The circumcised, as performed with hands in the flesh; 12. That ye were then without (an interest in) Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth pf Israel, (and the privileges of the church of God), and strangers to the promises of the covenant (of grace and mercy,) having no hope (of salvation), and without God in the world (made and upheld by him). 13. But now, (by an interest). in Christ Jesus, ye who were formerly far off (from the favour of God) are brought near (to God) by the atoning blood of Christ. 14. For he is our peacemaker, making both (Jews and Gentiles) one church, having thrown down the middle wall of separation, (the ceremonial ritual); 15. Having abolished (by suffering) in his flesh ('twixt Jews and Gentiles), the enmity, even the law of ritual commands, consisting in ceremonial ordinances, to form the two (parties, by uniting both) in himself into one new body (and church), so making peace (between them), 16. And to reconcile both (thus united in one body, or church,) to God, by the (blood of his) cross, having thereby slain the enmity, (by abolishing the ceremonial law;) 17. He also came and preached peace to you, Gentiles, who were far off (from God), and to the Jews who were called near to him. 18. For thro' him we both have access by the same Holy Spirit to the Father.
19. So then, ye are no more strangers and foreigners (to God and his church), but fellow-citizens of it with the saints, being of the (church or) household of God. 20. And are built upon the foundation (or faith and doctrine) of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone, (uniting the two parts of the building, the Jews and Gentiles;) 21. By whom the whole building harmoniously cemented, increaseth (by additions) into an holy temple for the Lord: 22. By whom ye also are built up together for an habition of God by the Spirit.
OF THE MYSTERY OF GRACE.
For this cause, I Paid am a prisoner for Jesus Christ for the sake of you Gentiles, 2. If you have heard of the dispensation of God's grace, given to me for you; 3. How that by revelation he made known to me the mystery, as I wrote you before in few words, 4. Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,
