branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his

love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I

dálíán ho: jo mujh men baná rahta hai, aur main us men, wali bahut phal látá hai: kyunki mujh

se judá tum kuchh kar nahin sakte.

6 Agar ádmí mujh se milá na rahe, wuh dálí kí tarah phenká játá, aur súkh játá hai; aur log unhen batorte hain, aur ág men jhonkte hain, aur jaláte hain. 7 Agar tum mujh men bane raho, aur merí báten tum men, to jo cháhoge, so mángoge, aur tumháre liye kiyá jáegá.

8 Mere Báp kí buzurgí is se hai, ki tum bahut phal láo; aur tum mere shagird hoge.

9 Jaisá Báp ne mujhe piyár kiyá, taisá maiù ne tumhen bhí piyár kiyá: tum mere piyár meg bane raho.

10 Agar tum log mere hukmon ko mánoge, to mere piyár men bane rahoge; jaisá main ne apne Báp ke hukmon ko máná hai, aur us ke piyár men baná hún.

11 Main ne ye baten tumhen kahín, táki meri khushi tum men baní rahe, our tumhárí khushí bharpúr howe.

12 Merá hukm yih hai, ki Jaisá main ne tumhen piyár kiya hai, taisá ek dusre ko piyár karo.

13 Is se siwá koí piyár nabín,. kartá, ki apue doston ke liye apní ján dewe.

14 Agar tum mere sáre hukmon ko máno, to tum mere dost ho. 15 Age main tumhen naukar na kahúngá; kyúnki naukar nahin jántá, ki us ká sáhib kya kartá

have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth

you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your's also.

21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, hecause they know not him that sent me.

22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done among

21 Par mere liye we tum se yih sulúk karenge, kyúnki we mere bhejnewále ko nahín jánte.

22 Agar main na áyá hotá, aur unhen na kahtá, to un ká gunáh na hotá: lekin ab un ke pás un ke gunáh ká kuchh bahána nahíu hai. 23 Jo mujh se dushmaní kartá hai, so mere Báp se bhí dushmaní karta hai.

24 Agar main un men aise kám

them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin : but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of

me:

27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

CHAPTER XVI.

1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

Aurmainne shurg men ye báten tumhen na kahip, kyúnki main tumhare sáth thí. 5 Par ab main apne bhejnewále ke pás játá húp; aur tum men se koi mujhe nahín púchhtá, ki Ap kahán játe hain?

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shew it nnto you.

16 A litttle while, and ye shall not see me and again, a little

6 Aur meri in báton ke kahne ke sabab se, tumhárá dil gham se bhargaya.

7 Tis par bhí main tumhen sach kahtá hún, ki tumháre liye merá jáná bhalá hai: kyúnki agar main na jáún, to Tasallidenewálá tumháre pás na áwega; par agar main jáún, to use tumháre pás bhejdángá.

8 Aur jab wuh áwegá, tab wuh dunyá ko gunáh se, aur sacháí se, aur hukm se taqsírwar thahráwegá:

9 Gunáh se, isliye ki we mujh par ímán na láe;

10 Sacháí se, isliye ki main apne Báp pás játá hún, aur tum mujhe phir na dekhoge;

11 Hukm se, isliye ki is dunyá ke sardár par hukm kiyá gayá hai. 12 Tumhen kahne ko ab bhí mere pás bahutsí báten hain, par ab tum un kí bardásht nahín kar sakte ho.

13 Lekin jab sachái kí Rúh áwe, wuh tumhen sárí sachái men pahuncháwegí: kyúnki wuh apní na kahegí; lekin jo kuchh wuh sunegí, so kahegí: aur wuh tumhen áge ki khabar degi.

14 Wuh meri buzurgí karegí: isliye ki wuh merí chízon meu se páwegí, aur tumhen batáwegí.

15 Sab chízen jo Báp kí hain, so meri hain: isliye main ne kahá, ki Wuh merí chízon men se legí, aur tumhen batáwegí.

16 Thorá aur phir tum mujhe na dekhoge: aur thora aur tum

while, and ye shall see me, be- mujhe dekhoge, kyúuki main Báp cause I go to the Father. ke pás játá hún.

17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me and again, a little while, and ye shall see me and, Because I go to the Father?

18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye

21 Janne ke dard men aurat dilgír hoti hai, isliye ki us kí ghari pahunchí hai: par jab us ká laṛká paidá háá, to wuh us khushí se us dard ko yád nahín kartí, ki ek ádmí dunyá men paidá húá.

22 Isí tarah tum log ab dilgir ho: par main tumhen phir dekhúngá, aur tumhírí khushi tum se koí chhín na legá.

23 Aur tum us din mujh se kuchh na púchhoge. Main tum se sach sach kahta hún, Jo kuchh
