28 Then they revilen him, and faid, Thou art his disciple; but we are Motes' difciples.

29 We know that God spake unto Mofes: as for this fellow, we knownot from whence he is.

30 The man antwered, and faid unto them, Why, herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

31 Now, weknow that God heareth not finners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth

32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

34 They answered, and said unto him, Thou wait altogether born in fins, and doft thou teach us? And they caft him out.

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he faid unto him, Dot thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered, and faid, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37 And Jefus faid unto him, Thou haft both feen him, and it is he that talbeth with thee.

399 And Jeins faid, For judgment I am com this world; that they which ce mot might fee, and that they which see might be made blind.

CHAP. Χ.

Chrift the good shepherd, &c.

VERILY, verily, lay unto you He that entereth not by the door into the sheep-fold, but climbeth up fome other way, the fame is a thief and a robber.

2 But he that entereth in by the door is the thepherd of the sheep.

3 To him the porter openeth; and the theep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

7. Then faid Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the theep.

8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10 The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

am the good hepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall heat my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one fhepherd.

17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all: and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to ftone him..

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye tone me?

33 The Jewsaniwered him, say18 No man taketh it from me, but ing, For a a good good work we ftone thee I lay it down of myself. I have power. not, but for blafphemy; and beto lay it down, and I have power cause that thou, being a man, mato take it again. This command- kest thyself God.

20 And many of them faid, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil: can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22 And it was at Jerufalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23 And Jesus walkedinthetemple in Solomon's porch.

24 Then came the Jews round about him, and faid unto him, How long doft thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me:

are gods?

35 If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36. Say ye of him whom the Father hath sanctified, and fent into the world, Thou blafphemeft; because I faid, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39 Therefore they fought again to take him: but he escaped out of their and,

40 And went away again bayond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

41 And many resorted unto him and faid, John did no miracle: but all S. JOHN. all things that John spake of this

3 Therefore his fifters fent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is fick.

4. When Jefus heard that, he faid, This fickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. 5 Now Jesusloved Martha, and her fister, and Lazarus.

6 When he had heard, therefore, that he was fick, he abode two days till in the fame place where he was. 7 Then after that faith he to his difciples, Let us go into Judea again.

20 Then Martha, as foon as the heard that Jefus was coming, went and met him: but Mary fat ftill in the house.

21 Then faid Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

23 Jesus faith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha faith unto him, Iknow that he shall rise again in the refurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus faith unto her, I am the refurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;

26 And whofoeverliveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. Believest thou this?

27 Shefaith unto him, Yea, Lord; I believe that thou art the Chrift, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

37 And fome of them said, Could not this man, which opened theeyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and faid, Father, I thank thee that thou haft heard me.

42 And I knew that thou heareft me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou halt sent me.

and faid, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

48 If we let him thus alone all men will believe on him; and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

51 And this spake he not of himself; but, being high priest that year, he prophefied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

53 Then, from that day forth, they took counsel together for to put him to death.

54 Jesus, therefore, walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence into a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with bis disciples.
