36 Verily I fay unto you, All these things fhall come upon this generation.

37 O Jerufalem, Jerufalem, thou that killeft the prophets, and ftoneft them which are fent untothee, how often would I have gathered thy Children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under ber wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your houfe is left un to you defolate.

39 For I fay unto you, Ye fhall not fee me henceforth, till ye fhall ay, Bleffed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

8 All these are the beginning of forrows.

9 Then fhall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and fhall kill you: and ye fhall be hated of all nations for my name's fake.

10 And then fhall many be offended, and fhall betray one ano ther, and fhall hate one another.

ri And many falfe prophets fhall rife, and fhall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity fhall abound, the love of many fhall wax

cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the fame fhall be faved.

Verily Lay readeth, let him understand,) unto you, There hall not be left here one ftone upon another, that fhall not be thrown down.

16 Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:

so But pray ye that your Right be not in the winter, neither on the fabbath-day:

s For many hall come in my name, faying, I am Chrift; and fhall deceive many. 6 And ye thall hear of wars, and rumours of wars: fee that yebe not troubled; for all these things muft someto pafs, but the end is not yet. 24 And except those days fhould For nation hall rife againft na- be hortened there should no flesh tion, and kingdou, againf king- be faved: but for the elects fake om and there fhall be famines, thofe days thall be shortened.

CHAP. 23 Then if any man fhall fay unto you, Lo, here is Chrift, or there, believe it not.

24Forthere fhall arife falfeChrifts, and falfe prophets, and fhall fhew great figns and wonders; infomuch that (if it were poffible) they fhall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, Ihave told you before. 26 Wherefore, if they fhall fay unto you, Behold he is in the defert; go not forth: behold, he is in the fecret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the eaft, and fhineth even I unto the weft; fo fhall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 For wherefoever the carcafe is there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of thofe days fhall the fun be darkened, and the moon fhall not give her light, and the ftars fhall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens fhall be fhaken:

30 And then fhall appear the fign of the Son of man in heaven; and then fall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they fhall fee the Son of man coming in the clouds of hea ven with power and great glory.

31 And he fhall fend his angels with a great found of a trumpet, and they fhall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 T Now, learn a parable of the Big-tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that fummer is nigh:

33 So likewife ye, when ye hall fee all these things, know that it is Dear, even at the doors.

34 Verily I fay unto you, This generation ball not país till all thefe things be fulfilled.

36 But of that day and hour knowethnoman, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noe were, fo fhall alfo the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; fo fhall alfo the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then fhall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women fhall be grinding at the mill; the one fhall be taken, and the other left.

421Watch,therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord dothcome.

43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come he would have watched, and would not have fuffered his houfe to be broken up.

44 Therefore be ye alfo ready!:. for in fuch an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 Who then is a faithful and wife fervant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due feafon?

46 Bleffed is that fervant whom his lord, when he cometh, fhall find fo doing.

47 Verily Ifay unto you, That he fhall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But and if that evil fervant fhall fay in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 And fhall begin to fmite bis fellow-fervants, and to cat and drink with the drunken;

CHAP. XXV. The parable of the ten virgins. Theaven be likened unto ten HEN fhall the kingdom of virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wife, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

the talents, &c. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his feveral ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the fame, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewife he that had received two, he alfo gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

5 While the bridegroom tarried they all lumbered and flept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all thofe virgins arofe, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish faid unto the wife, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wife answered, faying, Not fo; left there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that fell, and buy for your felves.

Lo And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was fhut. II Afterward came alfo the other virgins, faying, Lord, Lord, open

to us.

20 And fo he that had received five talents came, and brought other five talents, faying, Lord, thou deliveredit unto me five talents: behold, I have gained besides them five talents more.

21 His lord faid unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful fervant; thou haft been faithful ever a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came, and faid, Lord, thou deliveredft unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents befides them.

23 His lord faid unto him, Well done, good and faithful fervant; thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord..

141 For the kingdom of beaven is as a man travelling jato a far country, who called his own fervants, and delivered unto them his goods.

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth; 1o, there thou hast that is thine.

A defeription of the CHA P. XXV, XXVI. laft judgment, &c. 26 His lord answered and faid 38 When faw we thee a tranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

anto him, Thou wicked and flothful fervant, thou kneweft that I reap where I fowed not, and gather where I have not ftrawed;

27 Thou oughteft, therefore, to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I fhould have received mine own with ufury.

28 Take, therefore, the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath fhall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, fhall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And caft ye the unprofitable fervant into outer darkness: there fhall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

31 When the Son of man fhall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then fhall he fit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him thall be ga thered all nations; and he fhall feparate them one from another, as a fhepherd divideth bis fheep from the goats:

33 And he shall fet the theep on his right hand, but the goats on the left,

34 Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right hand, Come, ye bleifed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from

the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirfty, and ye gave me drink: I was a ftranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was fick, and ye vifited me: I was in prifon, and ye came unto me.

37 Then fhall the righteous anfwer him, laying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? er thirty, and gave thee drink?

39 Or, when faw we thee fick, or in prifon, and came unto thee? 40 Andthe Kingthallanfwer and fay unto them, Verily I fay unto you, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the leaft of thefe my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlafting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

42 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a ftranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: fick and in prison, and ye vifited me not.

44 Then thall they alfo anfwer him, faying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungered, or athirft, or a ftranger, or naked, or fick, or in prifon, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then fhall he answer them, faying, Verily I fay unto you, In as much as ye did it not to one of the leaft of thefe, ye did it not to me.

46 And thefe thall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

CHA P. XXVI.
A confpiracy against Chrift.
AND it came to pals, when

Jefus had finished all thefe fayings he faid unto his difciples,

2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the pallover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

3 Then affembled together the chief priests, and the fcribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high pricft, who was called Caiaphas,

4 And confuled that they might take Jefus by fubtilty, and kill him.

But

6 Now, when Jefus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

7 There came unto him a woman having an alabafter-box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head as he fat at meat.

8 But when his difciples faw it they had indignation, faying, To what purpofe is this wafte?

9 For this ointment might have been fold for much, and given te the poor.

10 When Jefus understood it he faid unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

II For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

12 For in that the hath poured this ointment on my body, fhe did it for my burial.

13 Verily I fay unto you, Wherefeever this golpel fhall be preached in the whole world, there fhall allo this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priefts,

15 And faid unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of filver. 16 And from that time he fought opportunity to betray him.

171 Now, the firft day of the feaft of unleavened bread, the difciples came to jefus, faying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the paffover?

18 And he faid, Go into the city to fuch a man, and fay unto him, The Mafter faith. My time is at hand; I will keep the paffover at thy houfe with my difciples.

20 Now, when the even was come, he fat down with the twelve.

21 And as they did eat he said, Verily I fay unto you, That one of you fhall betray me.

22 And they were exceeding forrowful, and began every one of them to fay unto him, Lord, is it I?

23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the fame fhall betray me.

24 The Son of man geh, as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, anfwered and faid, Maiter, is it I? He faid unto him, Thou haft faid.

26 And, as they were eating, Jefus took bread, and bleffed it, and brake it, and gave it to the difciples, and faid, Take, eat; this is my body.

27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, faying, Drink ye all of it:

28 For this is my blood of the new teftament, which is fhed for many for the remiffion of fins.

29 But I fay unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

30 And when they had fung an hymn they went out into the mount of Olives.

31 Then faith Jefus unto them, All ye thall be offended becaufe of me this night: for it is written, I will fmite the Shepherd, and the theep of the flock fhall be fcatter ed abroad.

32 But after I am rifen again I will go before you into Galilee.
