Tawe blind men cured. their peace: but they cried the more, faying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou fon of David. 32 And Jesus stood still and called them, and faid, What will ye that I shall do unto you? 33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34 So Jefus had compaffion on them, and touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received fight, and they followed him. CHAP. ΧΧΙ. A Chrift rideth into Jerufalem. ND when they drew high unto Jerufalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then fent Jesus two difciples, 10 And when he was come into Jerufalem all the city was moved, faying, Who is this? 11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet, of Nazareth of Galilee. 12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and caft out all them that fold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that fold doves, 13 And faid unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it den of thieves. 14 Ana the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. 2 Saying unto them, Go into 151 And when the chief priefts the village over against you, and and scribes faw the wonderful ftraightway ye shall find an ass things that he did, and the chiltied, and a colt with her: loofe dren crying in the temple, and faythem, and bring them unto me. ing, Hofanna to the son of David; they were fore displeased, 3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall fay, The Lord hath need of them; and traightway he will fend them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and fitting upon an ass, and a colt, the foal of an afs. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the afs, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. 16 And faid unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus faith unto them, Yea: have yenever read, Out of the mouth of babes and fucklings thou hast perfected praise? 17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there. 18 Now, in the morning, as he returned into the city he hungered. 19 And when he faw a fig-tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon but leaves only, and faid unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig-tree withered away. 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. 20 And when the disciples saw it 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Bieffed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. they marvelled, faying, How foon is the fig-tree withered away! 21 Jesus answered, and faid unte them, Verily I fay unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the B4 fig-tree, 33 Hear another parable; There was a certain householder which planted a vineyard, and hedged it Chrift rebuketh ibe S. And they reasoned with themselves, faying, If we thall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him? 26 But if we shall fay, Of men; we fear the people: for all hold John as a prophet. 27 And they anfwered Jesus, and faid, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. 28 But what think ye? A certain man had two fons; and he eame to the first, and said, Son, go work to-day in my vineyard. 29 He answered and faid, I will not; but afterward he repented, and went. 30 And he came to the second, and faid likewife. And he answered, and faid, I go, fir; and went not, 31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus faith unto them, VerilyIfayuntoyou, Thatthe publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his fer ants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And the husbandmen took his fervants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he fent other fervante more than the firfst: and they did unto them likewife. 37 But last of all he fent unto them his son, saying, they will reverence my fon. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they faid among themfelves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and new him. 40 When the lord, therefore, of the vineyard cometh, what willhe do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miferably destroy those wicked men, and will let out bis vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons, 42 Jesus faith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The ftone which the builders rejected, the fame is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, The marriage-parable. A and faid, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage ror his fon, 3 And fent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding:andthey would not come. 4 Again he fent forth other fervants, faying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6 And the remnant took his fervants, and intreated them spitefully, and flew them. 7 But when the king heard thereof he was wroth: and he fent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burnt up their city. $ Thenfaith heto his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9 Goye, therefore, into the highways, and, as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. 13 Then faid the king to the fervants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and caft bim into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnasking of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen. 151 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they fent out unto him their difciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teacheft the way of God in truth, neither careft thos for any man; for thou regardeft not the perfon of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what thinkeft thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cefar, or not? 18 But Jefus perceived their wickedness, and faid, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute-money. And they broughtuntohimapenny. 20 And he faith unto them, Whofe is this image and superscription ? 21 They say unto him, Cefar's. Then faith he unto them, Render, therefore, unto Cefar the things which are Cefar's; and unto God the things that are God's. 22 When they had heard these wards they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. 231 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which fay that there is no refurrection, and asked him, 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered 24 Saying, Master, Mofes faid together all, as many as they found, If a man die, having no childrenz BS The Sadducees confuted. God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And whenthemultitude heard this they were astonished at his doctrine. 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to filence they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which suas a lawyer, alked him a question, tempting him, and faying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jefus faid unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy foul, and with all thy mand. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the fecond is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyfelf Of the Meffias, &c. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 411 While the Pharifees were gaerega thered together, Jesus asked them, 42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He faith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, faying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footftool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his fon? 46 And no man was able to anfwer him a word; neither durft any man, from that day forth, ask him any more questions.
