Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Ps. 107-21-And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. Ps. 107-22.-Oh give thanks unto tho Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. I Chro. 16-34-And say ye, save us, O God of our salvation, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise. I Chro. 16-35.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence. Ps. 140-13.-So we will give thee thanks for ever; we will shew forth thy praise to all generations. Ps. 79-13.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Ps. 116-5.-And what shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me. I Ps. 116-12.—I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. Ps. 116-13.—I will pay my vows unto the Lord, now in the presence of all his people. Ps. 116-14.—I will sacrifice to thee sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord, Ps. 116-17.—I will praise thy name with these songs, and will magnify thee with thanksgiving. CHAPTER XIV.-PART II.

Rules of Divine Worship observed by Asiatics,

A man with a Blemish is Unfit for a Clergyman.

The Lord spake unto Moses, Lev. 21-1 .-Saying, whosoever he be of thy seed (Lord Adam's) in their generations that hath any blemish let him not approach to offer the bread of his God, Lev. 21-17.-For

These chapters on God are for the the prayers for God.-They are divided in two parts to spare time. They are sanctifled by God for daily prayers. If any perfect man recites both a day observing the laws of worship, is bound to leave the world to heaven to join the saints.

whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach; (because he is a condemned mortal destined to die of unnatural death next birth;) a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath anything superfluous or a man that is broken footed, or broken handed, or crookbacked, or hath his stones broken. Lev, 21-18 to 20.-He shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish, that he profane not my sanctuaries for I the Lord do sanctify. Lev. 21-23.

No one should go to the Church after a dose of liquor,

Do not drink wine, nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die, it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations. Lev. 109-Neither shall any priest drink wine, when he entereth into the church,Ezek. 44-21.

Defile not the Church when ye are unclean.

When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. Lev. 15-2.-This shall be his uncleanness in his issue, whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue; it is his uncleanness. Lev. 15-3.—If a man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, (and all his clothes), and be unclean until the even. Lev. 15-16.-And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even, Lev. 15-17.—If any man, who is not clean by reason of what chanceth him by night, then shall he go out of the bed, and he shall bathe himself in water and all his clothes. Deut. 23-10,11-Also the woman with whom man shall lie, with seed of copulation, they both shall bathe themselves in water, and all the clothes, then be clean. Lev. 15-18.—If a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh-be Flood, she shall be put apart, Lev, 5-19,- This is the law of him that hath an issue and of him whose seed, goeth forth from him, and is defiled there with. Lev, 15-32,-Whosoever toucheth the dead body, of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself (soon), defileth the tabernacle of the Lord for his uncleanness is yet upon him, Num. 19-13. And he shall purify himself, and wash

his clothes, and bathe himself in water, then shall he be clean. Num. 19-19.

* With an uncovered head thy prayers shall not be accepted.

He that is the high priest among his brethren, and that is consecrated to put on the (white) garments, shall not uncover his head (while offering prayers) nor rend his clothes, (or put on dirty clothes). Lev. 21- 10.—Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes lest wrath come upon all the peop le. Lev. 10-6.-(when offering prayers) Bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on the shoes upon thy feet. Ezek 24.17.-And ye shall do as I have done, your tires shall be upon your heads. and your shoes upou your feet. Ezek. 24,22,23.—Thus Ezekal is unto you a sign, according to what he hath done shall ye do. Ezek. 24-24. (David for the respect to the ark of God) had his head covered, and all the people that was with him covered every one his head. 2 Sam. 15-30-Keep thy foot (If there is a carpet) when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give sacrifice of fools (of cows and birds) for they consider not that they do evil. Ecc. 5-1-When ye appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts; For when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you. Isa. 1.12,15.

Go not to the Church without bathing,

wash thy hands and face before praying.

The Lord said unto Moses saying, Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thoa

shalt put it between the tabernacle 01 the congregation. and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein. Ex. 30-17, 18. For Aaron and his sons (and others) shall wash their hands, faces, and feet thereat. Ex. 30-19. When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, or when they come near to the altar to minister, or when they offer prayers in the temple of the Lord, (Cf. John 13-10 he that is washed is clean every whit.) Ex. 30-20 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations. Ex. 30-21

* For this error of Paul, Jesus is very sorry, it must be corrected. I. Cor. 11-4.

Pray Devoutly for it is a Shield to thy Soul, a Sacrifice to God. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God, (let not thine mind think of worldly cares) for God is in the heaven and thou upon earth, therefore let thy words (and thoughts) be few. Ecc. 5-2-Let men pray every where. lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. I Tim 2-8-Speak to yourselves in Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody, in your heart to the Lord. Eph 5-19.-Let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may inte pret. I cor. 14-13--If thou pray in an unknown tougue, thy spirit prayeth, but thy understanding is unfruitful. I cor. 14-14.

Rules for men, women, and strangers, the same.

And ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger as for one of your own country, for I am the Lord your God. Lev. 25-22--In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacednees and Sobriety, not with broided hair, or gold or pearls, or costly array. I. Tim. 2-9. But (which becometh women, professing godliness,) with good works. I Tim 2-10.

CHAPTER XV.

I should on God Alone so much depend.
That I should Need nor Wealth nor other friend.

Hear, O man, the Lord our God is one God. Deut. 6-4.-And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deut. 6-5.-That thou mayest know that there is none like unto the Lord our God. Ex. 8-10.-Know ye that the Lord he is God, it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves, we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Ps. 100-3.-And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord. Jer. 24-7.— Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neithef let the rich man glory in his riches Jer. 9-23-Let him that glorieth glory in this that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord, Jer. 9-24,

He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. I John 4-8.— No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us. and his love is perfected in us. I John 4-12.-Hereby know we that we dwel! in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his spirit. I John 4-13,-And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. I John 4 16.-If any man love God, the same is known of him. I. Cor. 8-3. To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all beings, and we in him. I Cor 8-6.

For God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2-4, 6.-That in ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Cph. 2-7.-For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Eph. 2-8.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. I John 2-15.-The world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. I John 2-17.-But there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rom. 3-11.

O, continue thy loving kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Ps. 36-10.-For with thee is the fountain of life, in thy light shall we see light. Ps. 36-9.

Two things have I required of thee, deny me them not before I die, Pro. 30-7.-Remove far from me vanity and lies, give me neither poverty nor riches, feed me with food convenient for me. Pro. 30-8.— Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord ? or lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Pro. 30-9.— There is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel against the Lord. Pro 21-30. The horse is prepared against the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord. Pro. 21-31.
