long suffering, gentleness goodness, faith, meekness, temperance Gal. 5-22, 23,—And if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit Gal 5-25-For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord, walk as children of light. Eph. 5-3.-(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, and righteousness and truth), proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. Eph. 5-9, 10.-And let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning. Luke 12-35-And let your lights so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Math 5-16.-That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke in the midst of a crooked, and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Phil. 21-5.

Our light also gets darkness for flesh-eating as for licentiousness.

They soon forget his work, they waited not for his counsel Ps. 106-13.-But lusted exceedingly (or flesh) in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. Ps. 106-14.-And he gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul. Ps. 106.-15.

CHAPTER-XXV.

One good mother is worth a million School Masters,
For what is learned in the cradle lasts till the grave.

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. except the Lord keep the city, watchmen waketh but in vain. Ps. 127-1.-For through wisdom is an house builded, and by understanding it is establised, Pro. 21-3.-And by knowledge shall th chambers be filled with all precious and pleasent riches. Pro. 24-4-Lo children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward, And happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them Ps. 127-3, 5. And children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children are their fathers. Pro, 17-16.

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my commandments, I am the Lord your God. Lev. 19-3--Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Col. 3-20.-Honour thy father and thy mother which is the

first commandment with promise, Eph. 6-2.-That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Eph. 6-3.-And ye fathers provoke not the children to wroth, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Eph. 6-4-.My son, hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old, Pro. 23-22. For the father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice, and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Pro. 23-24

A child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right Pro. 20-11-A fool despiseth his father's instruction, but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. Pro. 15-5,--A foolish son is the calamity of his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. Pro. 19-13.--He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. Pro. 19-26 -But whoso keepeth the law is a wise son, And he that is a companion of riotous men shame th his father. Pro. 28-7. --Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness, Pro. 20-20-And whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, it is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer. Pro. 28-24.

Children Like Dogs have Sharp Scent and Hunt out Everything.

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest, yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. Pro. 29-17.-Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. Pro. 19-18.-He that spareth his rod hateth his son, but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Pro, 13-24. -For the rod and reproof give wisdom, but a ohild left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Pro. 29-15.-Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Pro. 22-6.--For foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him, Pro. 22-15. Withhold not correction from the child, for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die, Pro. 23-13--Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Pro. 23-14.

CHAPTER XXVI.

Love All, Trust a Few, Do Wrong to None. Sh. Behold, how good and how pleasant i is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Ps. 133-1.-Let brotherly love always continue,

Heb. 13-1-For all the law is fulfilled in one world. even in this. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Gal. 5-14.--Owe no man any thing, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Rom. 13-8.--And thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, I am the Lord. Lev. 19-18.

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. I John 2-10.--But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. I John 2-11.-We have passed from death unto life, because we love the brothren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. I John 3-14.-Whoso hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. I John 3-15.-Whoso doeth not righteousness is not of God neither he that loveth not his brother. I John 3-10,--Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God, 1 John 4-7.--If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar, for he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? I John 4-20.-And this commandment have we of him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. I John 4-21.

Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God, and honour the king. I Pet. 2-17.-Have we not all one father? hath nat on e God created us? why do we dea! treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? Mal. 2-10.-Let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. Zec. 7-10. -Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother. Zec. 7-9--Take heed to yourself. If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgive him. Luke 17-3.-Finally be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous, Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing, knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. I Pet. 3-8, 9.-And he that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him

become his son at the length Pro 29-21

Ye have heard what hath been said, Thon shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy. Math. 5-13.-But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them, which despitefully use you, and prosecute you. Math. 5-44. — That ye may be the children of your father, which is in heaven. Math. 5-45.--And if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone, if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. Math. 18-15 --And thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them, thou shalt surely help him, to lift them up again. Deut. 22-4.

And now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such an one no not to eat. I Cor. 5-11.--Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. I Cor. 5-13.-And eat thou not the bread of him tha hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats. Pro. 23-6.--For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he, Eat and drink, saith he to thee, but his heart is not with thee. Pro. 23-7.--The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, aud loose thy sweet words. Pro. 23-8.

CHAPTER XXVII.

Expose Thyself to Feel What the Wretches Feel. Sh.

The Lord trieth the righteous, but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hatech. Ps. 11-5.-For the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expection of the poor shall not perish for ever. Ps. 9-18.-Remember them that are in the bonds, as bound with them, and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves all in the body. -Defend the poor and fatherless, do justice to the afflicted Ps. 2-3.

Heb. 13-3.

and needy.

To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend, but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. Job 6-14.-And whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker, and he that is glad at calamities shall

not be unpunished, Pro. 17-5.-Also he that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker, but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor, Pro. 14-31,-Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the people, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Pro. 21-13.Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither oppress the afflicted in the gate, Pro. 22-22.-For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. Pro. 22-23.-Remove not the old landmark, and enter not into the fields of the fatherless. Pro. 23-10.For their Redeemer is mighty, he shall plead their cause with thee. Pro. 23-11.-And if thou forbear to deliver them, that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain. Pro. 24-11.-And if thou sayest, behold, we knew it not, doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? Pro 24-12.

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth, and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. Jas. 5-4.-Be ye patient, stablish

your hearts

for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Jas. 5-8.--Behold, the judge standeth before the door. Jas. 5-9.--Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong, that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work. Jer. 22-13.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? Jas. 2-5.--But ye have despised the poor. Jas. 2-6.--If ye fulfil the royal law according to the Scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. Jas. 2-8.--But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors, Jas. 2-9.-For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Jas. 2.10.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor, the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. Ps 41-1--The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth. Ps. 41-2.-Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Math. 5-7.
