Ude the fervant of Jefus Chrift, and brother of James, to them that are fanctified by God the Father, and preferved in Jefus Christ, and called: Mercy unto you, and peace, and love be multiplied. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common falvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you, that ye fhould earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the faints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condeinnation; ungodly men turning the grace of our God into lafcivioufnefs, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jefus Chrift. fideration of our Lord's fufferings fhould be a motive to patience and refignation, rot only in the cafe of perfecution for confcience fake, but alfo in all worldly afflictions. Becaufe, if he chearfully fo endured fuch forrows for our fake, who was without blemish; how. much reafon have we to bear patiently the chaftifeents of Heaven when our fins have deferved far more than God is pleafed to lay upon us.

you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chofen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
