With this explanation of his objects and undertaking -neither claiming nor venturing to acquire the repute of originality,—but content to have found within those Pages, which from childhood have under authority guided his devotions, ample materials for Congregational and Private Psalmody, and happy, if his arrangement can in any degree assist in promoting the order and spirituality of the service therein rendered unto Almighty God, he submits this little Volume for the use of the Congregation with whom he is Ministerially connected, and of any others to whom it may be recommended.
