The Parties will be placed before him; the Righteous on his right Hand, in the Air; the Wicked on his Left, upon the Earth: Matth. xxy. 33. And the Son of man fhall fet the sheep " on his right hand, but the goats on the left.' Com pared with Theff. iv. 17. We which are alive, and remain, fhall be caught up together with ' them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And Matth. xxiv. 40. Then shall two be in the 'field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." What Men must give an Account of then, is, their Thoughts, Words, and Deeds done in the Body: I Cor. iv. 5. Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light "the hidden things of darkness, and will make mani'feft the counfels of the hearts.' Matth. xii. 36. 37. 'But I fay unto you, that every idle word that men " fhall fpeak, they fhall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou fhalt be juftified, and by thy words thou shalt be 'condemned.' Ecclef. xii. 14. God fhall bring -" every work into judgment, with every fecret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. And Judgment will be given on Men, according to their Works good or bad: Rev. xx. 12. The 'dead were judged out of those things which were ' written in the books, according to their works." 2 Cor. v. 10. not be confidered in the Judgment, as the Ground of their Right to Heaven; but as the Evidences of it: Eph. ii. 8. 9. By grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, left any man should boaft.' Rev. xxii. 14. 'Bleffed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.' Compared with Mark iv. 25. He that hath, to him fhall be given: and he that hath not, from him fhall be taken even that ' which he hath.' And Matth. v. 45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven.' But the ill Works of the Unrighteous will be confidered in it, as the juft Grounds of their Damnation: Gal. iii. 10. For as many as are

of the works of the law, are under the curfe: for it is written, Curfed is every one that con*tinueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.' Compared with Matth. xxv. 41. Then fhall he fay also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.' Sentence will be pronounced on the Righteous firft: Matth. xxv. 33. 34. And he fhall fet the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King fay unto them on his right hand, Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the • foundation of the world.'

The Benefit of Chrift's Purchase they fhall receive in the Judgment, is, that they fhall be openly acknowledged and acquitted. They will be acknowledged and acquitted by Jefus Chrift the Judge: Matth. x. 32. Whofoever therefore fhall confefs

'me before men, him will I confefs alfo before my 'Father which is in heaven.' Chap. xxv. 34. above cited. He will acknowledge them to be his faithful Servants, and the Perfons whose Names are written in his Book of Life, for whom he died: Matth. xxv. 23. His Lord faid unto him, Well 'done, good and faithful fervant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler

will confefs his name before my Father, and be'fore his angels.' And he will acquit them from the Guilt of all their Sins: Acts iii. 19. ' Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your fins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the prefence of the Lord.' They are really fo acknowledged and acquitted by him already: John xvii. 9. 19. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou haft given me, for they are thine. And all mine are. thine, and thine are mine, and I am glorified in them.' Rom. viii. 33. 34. Who fhall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that juftifieth who is he that condemneth? It is Chrift that died, yea rather, that is rifen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who ' alfo maketh interceffion for us.' But they will be acknowledged and acquitted by him, in that Day, openly; namely, before his Father, Angels and Men And he will do it, by a Sentence pronounced and published, with his own Mouth, from the

Throne: Rev. iii. 5. forecited. Matth. xxv. 31. 32. When the Son of man fhall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall •he fit upon the throne of his glory. And before ' him fhall be gathered all nations; and he shall • feparate them one from another, as a fhepherd 'divideth his sheep from the goats.' verf. 34. The Sentence will be, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, Matth. xxv. 34. The Ground on which they will be openly acquitted in the Day of Judgment, will be the very fame on which they are acquitted now, to wit, the Righteousness of Christ upon them: Philip. iii. 9. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Chrift, the righteoufnefs which is of God by 'faith.' Rom. v. 21. That as fin hath reigned unto death, even fo might grace reign through ⚫ righteousness unto eternal life. by Jefus Chrift our Lord.' Chap. vi. 22. 23. But now being made free from fin, and become fervants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlafting life. For the wages of fin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jefus 'Christ our Lord.' He will fo acknowledge and ac quit them openly, to wipe off the Afperfions now caft on them by the Men of the World: I. lxvi. 5. Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word, Your brethren that hated you, that caft you out for my name's fake, faid, Let the Lord be glorified but he fhall appear to your joy, and they fhall be ashamed.' The Honour to be put upon them, immediately after that Acknowledg ment and Acquittance, is, that they fhall join with Christ,

The upright fhall have dominion over them in the morning.' And cxlix. 6. 7. 8. 9. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged fword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, < and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written this honour have all his faints.'

It will be the Lot of the Wicked in the Judgment, to be openly difowned and condemned by. Jefus Chrift. And that will be done, by Sentence pronounced and published with his Mouth, from the Throne: Matth, vii. 23. And then will I 'profefs unto them, I never knew you: depart 'from me, ye that work iniquity.' Chap. xxv. 41. That Sentence will be, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels, Matth. xxv. 41. The Grounds on which they will be condemned, are, their Sins and Ungodliness in their Hearts, Lips, and Lives: Rom. ii. 16. In the day when God fhall judge 'the fecrets of men by Jefus Chrift, according to my gofpel. Jude 14. 15. Behold, the Lord cometh, with ten thousands of his faints, to ex-.. ecute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them, of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard fpeeches, which ungodly finners have fpoken against him.' The Evidence on which their Condemnation fhall proceed, will be,
