5 Into thine hand I com-
mit my spirit: thou hast
redeemed me, O LORD
God of truth. 6I have
hated them that regard
lying vanities: but I trust
in the LORD. 7 I will be
glad, and rejoice in thy
mercy: for thou hast con-
sidered my trouble; thou
hast known my soul in T
adversities; 8 And hast
not shut me up into the
hand of the enemy: thou
hast set my feet in a
large room. 9 Have mer-
Cy upon me, O LORD, for
I am in trouble ; mine
eye is consumed with
grief, yea my soul and
my belly. 10 For my life o
spent with grief, and
my years with sighing:
my strength faileth, be-

and my bones are consumed. 11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without, fled from me. 12 I am forgotten as a dead man out

of mind: I am like a a broken vessel. 13 For I have heard the slander of many, fear was on every side while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. 15 My times are in thy hand deliver me

TIT enemies, and from them that persecute me. 16Make thy face to shine upon thy servant save me for thy mercies' sake. 17 Let me not be ashamed, 0 LORD, for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and b let them be silent in the

grave. 18 Let the lying 17 lips be put to silence:

⚫ which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

19 O how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee: which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men ! 20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence, from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion, from the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the LORD; for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness, in a d strong city. 22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, when cried unto thee.

23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. 24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: all ye that hope in the LORD.

XXXII.

A Psalm of David, Mas

chil.

BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto

whom the LORD imputeth 727
not iniquity: and in
whose spirit there is no
guile.

3 When I kept silence,
my bones waxed old;
through my roaring all
the day long. 4 For day
and night thy hand was
heavy upon me: my mois-
ture is turned into the
drought of summer. Se-
lah. 5 I acknowledged
my sin unto thee, and
mine iniquity have I not
hid: I said, I will con-
fess my transgressions
unto the LORD; and t
thou forgavest the ini-
quity of my sin. Selah.
6 For this shall every one
that is godly pray unto
thee, bin a time when
thou mayest be found:
surely in the floods of
great waters, they shall
not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding
place, thou shalt preserve
me from trouble: thou
shalt compass me about
with songs of deliver-
ance. Selah.

8 I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule which have no understanding whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice ye righteous: and shout for joy all ye that are upright in heart.

REJOICE LORD, O ye righteous: praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the LORD with harp sing unto him with the psaltery, and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

4 For the word of the LORD is right: and all his

ness and judgment: the earth is full of the a goodness of the LORD. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made: and all the host of them, by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together, as an heap : he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the 8 earth fear the LORD: let of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done : he commanded, and it stood fast.

XXXIV.

A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before a Abimelech; who drove him away and he departed.

I WILL bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
