In presenting, to the friends of the late Rev. WILLIAM HUNTINGTON, the concluding volume of his Posthumous Letters (which completes the whole of his works), the Editor deems it incumbent on him to make a few observations. Some surprise may possibly have been excited by the length of time which has elapsed between the publication of this and the preceding volumes. The delay has arisen from two causes, the first of which is this-From the most correct estimate that could be formed, it appeared certain that one more volume, in addition to the three former, would comprise the whole of the remaining unpublished Letters of the Author; and, as it was highly desirable that nothing which was calculated to meet the public eye, as the product of his valuable pen, should either be buried in obscurity |
