Illustrate this statement. Show that while the great elementary truths of the faith remained unchanged, St. Paul's teaching on matters of detail was modified by further revelations of the Spirit.

We must conclude that God's scheme of moral government is quite beyond our comprehension, yet that our partial ignorance of it cannot be alleged as an invalidation of the proofs of Religion. Did we comprehend this scheme entirely, we might find that the prevailing disorders usually cited as inconsistent with God's justice and goodness, would prove, on the contrary, instances of both. Trace out this argument.
