mities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Col. i. 11. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness.

SECTION IX.

1 Pet. i. 2. Elect according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace unto you and peace be multiplied. 2 Thess. ii. 13. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Rom. viii. 8, 9. 13. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 1 Cor. iii. 16, 17. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you! If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cor. xv. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Ephes. iv. 1–7. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of

us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Heb. x. 28, 29. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

SECTION X.

John xiv. 16, 17. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him but ye know him: for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 2 Cor. i. 3, 4, 5. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all consolation. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort, wherewith we ourselves are also comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 1 Pet. iv. 14. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. Rom. v. 3, 4, 5. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience experience; and experience hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is sked abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 1 Thess. v. 19, 20. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophecyings. Ephes. iv. 30. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are scaled unto the day of redemption.

Ephes. v. 9. For the fruit of and righteousness, and truth. fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, tleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law. If we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit. Jude 20, 21. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Col. i. 9, 10, 11. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyful

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephes. ii. 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Ephes. iv. 7, 8. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. John i. 16. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 1 Thess. ii. 13. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when ye received the word of God, which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of man, but as it is in truth the word of God which effectually worketh also in them that believe. 2 Cor. vi. 1. We then as workers together with him beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. Heb. ii. 9. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Jude 4. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Heb. vi. 4, 5, 6. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them

again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Phil. ii. 12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
