I do now, with the fame Thankfulness, adore that Wif dom and Goodness of the Divine Providence, which hath placed Your MAJESTY on the Throne, with all the Demonftrations of a General Joy, and United Affetions, that any Whole People are capable of giving to any Succeffor. If among These I also prefume to welcome Your MAJESTY with the humble Offering of a Book, compofed at first, and now again published, for the Advancement of Virtue and Religion in general, and for the fake of doing fuftice to the Offices of that particular Church, which now reveres Your MAJESTY, as its fupreme Governour and mighly Defender: Your Princely Goodness will not I hope difdain to countenance this poor, but unfeigned Teftimony, of my Zeal, for the Honour and Service of God, of the Church, and of Your MAJESTY.
