When shall love freely flow,
Pure as life's river?
When shall sweet friendship
glow

Changeless forever?
Where joys celestial thrill,
Where bliss each heart shall

And fears of parting chill,

Up to that world of light,

Take us, dear Savior; May we all there unite,

Happy forever;
Where kindred spirits dwell,
There may our music swell,

Soon shall we meet again,

Meet ne'er to sever;
Soon will peace wreath her
chain,

Round us forever;
Our hearts will then repose,

Safe from all worldly woes;
Our days of praise shall close,

2. "Pilgrim thou dost justly call me, Travelling through this lonely void; But no ill shall e'er befall me,

While I'm blest with such a GUIDE.

3. Such a Guide! no guide attends thee,
Hence for thee my fears arise;
If some guardian power defend thee,
'Tis unseen by mortal eyes.

4. "Yes, unseen; but still believe me,
Such a guide my steps attend;
He'll in every strait relieve me,
He will guide me to the end;

For I am bound for the kingdom, &c."

5. Pilgrim, see that stream before thee,
Darkly rolling through the vale;
Should its boisterous waves roll o'er thee,
Would not then thy.courage fail!

"No! I'm bound for the kingdom, &c." 6. "No; that stream has nothing frightful, To its brink my steps I'll bend; Thence to plunge 'twill be delightful; There my pilgrimage will end.

7. While I gazed, with speed surprising,
Down the vale she plunged from sight
Gazing still, I saw her rising,
Like an angel clothed in light!

Oh, she's gone to the kingdom,-
Will you follow her to glory?
Hallelujah! Praise ye the Lord.
