CONVENTION, 1830.

New Haven, June 2d, 1830. This being the day appointed by the Constitution of the Protestant Episcopal Church, in the State of Connecticut, for the meeting of the Annual Convention of said Church, the Rt. Rev. T. C. Brownell, D. D. LL. D. the Bishop of the Diocese, and several Clergymen and Lay.Delegates, attended at 10 o'clock, A. M. in Trinity Church in this city, which had been appointed by the Bishop as the place of meeting

Morning prayer was read by the Rev. Henry Judah, Rector of St. John's Church, Bridgeport, and the sermon preached by the Rev. Bethel Judd, Rector of St. James' Church, New-London.

The Bishop then held an ordination, and admitted to the holy order of Priests, the Rev. Norman Pioney, Adjunct Professor of Languages in Washington College, Hartford.

The religious exercises being concluded, the Bishop took the Chair, and appointed the Rev. A. Baldwin, the Rev. Wm. Jarvis, and the Rev. L. B. Hull, a Committee to receive and examine the testimonials of the Lay-Delegates.

'The Convention adjourned until 3 o'clock this afternoon, to meet in St. Paul's Chapel.

St. Paul's Chapel, 3 o'clock, P. M. The Convention met pursuant to adjournment. The list of the clergy of the Diocese being called over, the following members answered to their names, and took their seats : The Rt. Rev. T. C. BROWNELL, Rev. JOSEPH S. Covell, D. D. LL. D.
