E doe not conceive it neceßary, to '
give credit unto the enfuing Trea-
tife by our Testimony, fecing the
learned, and holy works of the Re-
verend Authour doe abundantly
praise him in the gate. His Cate

chifme, with the expofition thereof; his Treatife of the
life of Faith, together with other Books more lately
published, tending to reconcile the differences of thefe
times, doe fufficiently witneffe to the world, both bis
great abilities and Pietie. And if God, bad been plea
fed to lengthen his life, we believe, be might have
been very ferviceable, in feeking to reconcile our
prefent fad differences about Church-Government,be-
caufe (as we understand) he had thgrowly studied all
thofe Controverfies. But feeing the Lord.bath depri-
ved us of his help in that kinde, we are right glad,
