np H E following address was first made A to a particular society of Protestant Dissenters; but} as the occasion of it is by no means particular, it was thought there would be a propriety in making it more general by publication. The Protestant Dissenters, of all denominations, have certainly distinguished themselves by the lioble opposition they have made to the progress of superstition, in a great variety of forms; but, like all other reformers from popery, they have stopped too soon.
