THIS accompanies a packet of the Society's books dispersed this year, of which they defire your acceptance, being recommended to the care of Mr Robert Watts. I received no letter from you fince that of the 11th of October 1715, of which I hope you will excuse the ufe I have made in page 176 of the third part of letters accompanying this, that our Clergy here may know that the East Indies is not fo frightful a place to live in as many are apt to imagine. The Society will be glad to hear of your having been able to effect the fetting up a Charity School at Bombay, in imitation of that at Fort St George; and if a Master be wanting, upon a fignification of it from the Governor and Council, by a line in a letter to the Company, all imaginable care will be used to provide one: be pleafed in your letter to me at the fame time to fignify what encouragement he may expect. |
