Mal. iii. 10. Bring ye all the tithes into the ftorehoufe, that there may be meat in my houfe, and prove me now herewith, faith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a bleffing, that there fhall not be room enough to receive it.

Ver. 11. And I will rebuke the devourer for your fakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither fhall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, faith the LORD of hofts.

Ver. 12.

And all nations fhall call you blessed : for ye fhall be a delightfome land, faith the LORD of hofts.

Phil. iv. 17. Not because I defire a gift; but I defire fruit that may abound to your account.

Ver. 18. But I have all, and abound; I am full, having received of Epaphroditus, the things which were fent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a facrifice acceptable, well pleafing to GOD.

Matt. v. 7. Bleffed are the merciful, for they fhall obtain mercy.

Pf. xviii. 25. With the merciful, thou wilt fhew thyfelf merciful. Let not mercy and truth forfake

thee;

thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Ver. 4. So fhalt thou find favour and good understanding in the fight of GOD and man.

Prov. xi. 17. The merciful man doth good to his own foul; but he that is cruel, troubleth his own flesh.

Deut. xxiv. 12. If the man be poor, thou fhalt not fleep with his pledge.

Ver. 13. In any cafe thou fhalt deliver him the pledge again when the fun goeth down, that he may fleep in his own raiment, and bless thee; and it fhall be righteousness unto thee, before the LORD thy GOD.

XI. To the Giving and Receiving of REPROOFS.

Prov. xxviii. 23.

Prov. xxiv. 25. To them that rebuke him [the wicked] fhall be delight, and a good bleffing fhall come upon them.

Prev. xiii. 18. Poverty and fhame fhall be to him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof, fhall be honoured."

Prov. xv. 31. The ear that heareth the reproof of life, abideth among the wife.

Ver. 32. He that refuseth inftruction, defpifeth his own foul; but he that heareth reproof, getteth understanding.

Prov. xxv. 12. As an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, fọ is a wife reprover upon am obedient ear.

XII. TO FORGIVING INJURIES..

Prov. xx. 22. Say not thou, I will recompenfe evil: but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. Prov. xxv. 21. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink.

Ver. 22. For thou fhalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD fhall reward thee, Rom. xii.

Matt. v. 44. Love your enemies; bless them that curfe you; do good to them that hate you; and pray for them which defpitefully ufe you, and perfecute

you.

Ver. 45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven; for he maketh his fun to rife on the evil and on the good, and fendeth rain on the juft and on the unjuft.

Matt. vi. 14. If ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mark xi. 25. And when ye ftand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any; that your Father alfo which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasfes.

Luke vi. 35. Love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again, and your reward fhall be great, and ye fhall be the children of the Higheft: for he is kind unto the unthankful, and to the evil.

XIII. To CHASTITY and PURITY.

XIV. To DILIGENCE.

Prov. x. 4. The hand of the diligent maketh rich. Prov. xii. 24. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the flothful shall be under tribute.

Ver. 26. The fubftance of a diligent man is precious.

Ver. 11. He that tilleth his land fhall be fatisfied with bread.

Prov. xiii. 4. The foul of the fluggard defireth, and hath nothing; but the foul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Ver. 11. Wealth gotten by vanity fhall be diminished; but he that gathereth by labour fhall increase. Prov. xiv. 23. In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Prov. xxi. 5. The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteoufnefs; but of every one that is hafty, only to want.

Prov. xxii. 29. Seeft thou a man diligent in his bufinefs; he shall stand before kings, he fhall not ftand before mean men.

Prov. xxviii. 19. He that tilleth his land fhall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain perfons, fhall have poverty enough.
