31 Darum sollt ihr nicht sorgen und fagen: Was werden wir essen? Was werden wir trinfen? Womit werden wir uns fleiden?

32 Nach folchem allen trachten die Heiden. Denn euer himmlischer Vater weiß, daß ihr deß alles bedürfet.

not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, Oye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Where withal shall we be clothed?

34 Darum forget nicht für den andern Morgen. denn der morgende Tag wird für das Seine sorgen. Es ist genug, daß ein jeglicher Tag seine eigene Plage habe.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

CHAPTER VII.

richtet werdet.

2 Denn mit welcherleh Gericht ihr sichtet, werdet ihr gerichtet werden; und mit welcherley Maaß ihr meffet, wird euch gemessen werden.

3 Was siehst du aber den Splitter in deines Bruders Auge, und wirst nicht gewahr des Balken in deinem Auge?

4 Oder wie darfst du sagen zu deinem Bruder: Halt, ich will dir den Splitter aus deinem Auge zichen? Und stehe, ein Balke ist in deinem Auge.

5 Du Heuchler, ziehe am ersten den Balken aus deinem Auge; darnach be fiehe, wie du den Splitter aus deines Bruders Auge zichest.

6 Ihr sollt das Heiligthum nicht den Hunden geben, und eure Perlen sollt ihr nicht vor die Säue werfen, auf daß fie dieselbigen nicht zertreten mit ihren Füssen. und sich wenden und euch zerreißen.

7 Bittet, so wird euch gegeben;

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

6 ¶ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given

8 Denn wer da bittet, der empfängt; and wer da suchet, der findet; und wer da anklopft, dem wird aufgethan.

9 Welcher ist unter euch Menschen, to ihn sein Sohn bittet um Brod, der thm einen Stein biete?

10 Oder so er ihn bittet um einen Fisch, der ihm eine Schlange biete? 11 So denn ihr, die ihr doch arg fend, fönnet dennoch euren Kindern gute Gaben geben, wie vielmehr wird euer Vater im Himmel Gutes geben denen, die ihn bitten?

12 Alles nun, was ihr wollet, daß euch die Leute thun sollen, das thut ihr ihnen: das ist das Gesetz und die Propheten.

13 Gehet ein durch die enge Pforte. Denn die Pforte ift weit, und der Weg ist breit, der zur Verdammniß abführet; und ihrer sind viele, die darauf

wandeln.

14 Und die Pforte ist enge, und der Weg ist schmal, der zum Leben führet; und wenige sind ihrer, die ihn finden.

15 Sehet euch vor, vor den falschen Propheten, die in Schafskleidern zu euch kommen: inwendig aber sind sie reißende Wölfe.

16 An ihren Früchten sollt ihr sie erkennen. Kann man auch Trauben lesen von den Dornen, oder Feigen | von den Disteln ?

17 Also ein jeglicher guter Baum bringet gute Früchte; aber ein fauler Baum bringet arge Früchte.

18 Ein guter Baum kann nicht arge Früchte bringen, und ein fauler Baum fann nicht gute Früchte bringen. 19 Ein jeglicher Baum, der nicht gute Früchte bringet, wird abgchauen, und ins Feuer geworfen.

20 Darum aŭ ihren Früchten sollt ihr sie erkennen.

21 Es werden nicht Alle, die zu mir sagen: Herr Herr! in das Himmel

8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because, strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits: Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter

22 Es werden viele zu mir sagen an jenem Tage: Herr, Herr! haben wir nicht in deinem Stamen geweissaget? Haben wir nicht in deinem tamen Teufel ausgetrieben? Haben wir nicht in deinem Namen viele Thaten gethan?

23 Dann werde ich ihnen bekennen: Ich habe euch noch nie erkannt, weichet alle von mir, ihr Uebelthäter!

24 Darum wer diese meine Mede höret, und thut sie, den vergleiche ich einem flugen Manne, der sein Haus auf einen Felsen baucte.

25. Da nun ein Platzregen fiel, und ein Gewässer fam, und weheten Die Winde, and stießen an das Haus; fiel es doch nicht. Denn es war auf einen Felsen gegründet.

26 Und wer diese meine Rede höret, und thut se nicht, der ist einem thōrichten Manne gleich, der sein Haus auf den Sand bauete.

27 Da nun ein Platzregen fiel, und fam ein Gewässer, und weheten Die Winde, und stießen an das Haus; da fiel es, und that einen grossen Fall.

28 Und es begab sich, da Jesus diese Rede vollendet hatte, entsetzte sich das Bolf über seine Lehre.

29 Denn er predigte gewaltig, und nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten.

Das 8 Capitel.

Da er aber vom Berge herab ging,

folgte ihm viel Volks nach.

2 Und siehe, ein Aufsätziger fam und betete ihn an, und sprach: Herr! fo du willst, kannst du mich wohl reinigen.

3 Und Jesus streckte seine Hand aus, rührete ihn an, und sprach: Ich will es thun, seh gereiniget. Und alsobald ward er von seinem Aussatz rein.

he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 TTherefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house and it tell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pass when Je. sus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine.

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

CHAPTER VIII.

HEN he was come down from

tudes followed him.

2 And behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: Siche zu, fage es Niemand; sondern gehe hin, und zeige dich dem Priester, und obfere die Gabe, die Moses befohlen hat, zu einem Zeugnisse über sie.

5 Da aber Jesus einging zu Capernaum, trat ein Hauptmann zu ihm, ber bat ihn,

6 Und sprach: Herr, mein Knecht liegt zu Hause, und ist gichtbrüchig, and hat große Quaal.

7 Jesus sprach zu ihm: Ich will kommen, und ihn gesund machen.

8 Der Hauptmann antwortete, und sprach: Herr, ich bin nicht werth, daß du unter mein Dach geheft; sondern sprich nur ein Wort, so wird mein Knecht gefund.

4 And Jesus saith unto him, Seo thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and of. fer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 And Jesus saith unto him, 1 will come and heal him.

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

10 Da das Jesus hörete, verwunderte er sich, und sprach zu denen, die ihm nachfolgten: Wahrlich, ich sage euch. folchen Glauben habe ich in I3rael nicht gefunden.

11 Aber ich sage euch: Viele werden kommen von Morgen und von Abend, und mit Abraham und Isaak und Jafob im Himmelreiche sitzen;

12 Aber die Kinder des Reichs werden ausgestoßen in die äußerste Finsterniß hinaus, da wird sehn Heulen und Zähnflappen.

13 Und Jesus sprach zu dem Hauptmanne: Gehe hin, dir geschehe, wie du geglaubet hast und sein Knecht ward gesund zu derselbigen Stunde.

14 Und Jesus fam in Petri Haus, und fah, daß seine Schwieger lag, und hatte das Fieber.

15 Da griff er ihre Hand an, und das Fieber verließ sle. Und sie stand auf, und dienete ihnen.

16 Am Abend aber brachten sie viele Besessene zu ihm; und er trieb die

thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour.

14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that

17 Auf daß erfüllet würde, das geFagt ist durch den Propheten Jesaia, der da spricht: Er hat unsere SchwachSeit auf sich genommen, und unsere Seuche hat er getragen.

18 Und da Jesus viel Volts um Rich sah, hieß er hinüber jenseit des Meers fahren.

19 Und es trat zu ihm ein Schriftgelehrter, der sprach zu ihm: Meister, ich will dir folgen, wo du hingehest

20 Jefus fagte zu ihm: Die Füchse haben Gruben, und die Vögel unter dem Himmel haben Nester; aber des Menschen Sohn hat nicht, da er sein Haupt hinlege.

21 Und ein anderer unter seinen Jüngern sprach zu ihm: Herr, erlaube mir, daß ich hingehe, und zuvor mcinen Vater begrabe.

22 Aber Jefus sprach zu ihm: Folge

23 lind er trat in das Schiff, und eine Jünger folgten ihm.

24 Und slehe, da erhob sich ein groß Ungestüm im Meere, also, daß aud) das Schifflein mit Wellen bededt ward; und Er schlief.

25 Und die Jünger traten zu ihm, and weckten ihn auf, und sprachen: Herr! hilf uns, wir verderben.

26 Da sagte er zu ihnen: Ihr KleinAläuoizen, warum send ihr so furchtfam? Und stand auf, und bedrohete ben Wind und das Meer; da ward es ganz stille.

27 Die Menschen aber verwunderten fich und sprachen: Was ist das für ein Mann, daß ihm Wind und Meer gehorsam ist ?

28 llud er fam jenseit des Meers, in die Gegend der Gergesener. Da lieTen ihm entgegen zween Besessene, die tamen aus den Todtengräbern, und waren sehr grimmig, also, daß Niemand dieselbe Straße wandeln fonnte

23 And when he was entered, into a ship, his disciples followed him.

24 And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

28 And when he was come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way
