OBSERVATION. When the pupil has learnt and written Avoir in the four different ways, as exemplified above, he must recapitulate it as follows, using indiscriminately the different tenses, one in the affirmative, one in the negative, one in the interrogative, and one in the interrogative and negative, for the sake of practice; thus introducing the four ways in which it can be used, although going through it only once. This recapitulation will serve as a model for learning all the other Verbs, as it would take up too much time to learn and write each of them separately, these four different ways, at full length. Besides, from the knowledge of Avoir, as above exemplified, any one must be sufficiently acquainted with the different manners of using a Verb, to be able (when having learnt any other Verb according to the following recapitulation) to repeat any tense of it, either affirmatively, negatively, interrogatively, or interrogatively and negatively, if desired; as the same method, which has been adopted, is employed for the conjugation of any other Verb.

RECAPITULATION OF THE VERB Avoir, to have, In which the four different manners of using a Verb are introduced, although the Verb is written only once.
