March 23, Thursday.--I laid the corner-stone of the new Church of the Ascension, Greenpoint, on which occasion I was favored with the company of the Right Rev. Dr. Coxe, Assistant Bishop of Western New York, who kindly delivered the address.

March 26, Fourth Sunday in Lent, A. M.--In the Church of the Advent, New York, I preached, confirmed twenty-three, and addressed them.

P. M.-In the Church of the Holy Apostles, I preached, confirmed twentynine, and addressed them.

Evening. In the Church of the Resurrection, I confirmed fifteen, and addressed them.

On the same day, in Calvary, New York, the Right Rev. Dr. Coxe, Assistant Bishop of Western New York, by my invitation, confirmed thirty-six.

March 28, Tuesday, P. M.-I laid the corner-stone of a Sunday and Parochial School House for Grace Church, Brooklyn Heights. An address was delivered by the Rev. Dr. Francis Vinton, the former Rector of the Parish.

March 30, Thursday, Evening.-In St. George's Chapel, Beekman Street, I confirmed thirteen, and addressed them.

April 1, Saturday, A. M.-At a special ordination in St. Luke's, New York, I preached, and advanced the Rev. Edward Robert Atwill and the Rev. John Boyle to the Priesthood.

April 2, Fifth Sunday in Lent, A. M.-In St. Peter's, New York, I confirmed sixty, and addressed them.

P. M.-In the Church of St. John Baptist, I preached, confirmed eight, and addressed them.

Evening. In the Church of the Redemption, New York, I confirmed twenty-five, and addressed them.

April 3, Monday, P. M.-I attended a meeting of the Trustees of Columbia

College.

Evening.-I attended a meeting of the Committee of Domestic Missions.

April 4, Tuesday, A. M.--In Trinity Church, Mount Vernon, Westchester county, I attended a meeting of the Southern Convocation.

Evening.-In St. George's German Mission Chapel, after a sermon in German, by the Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Schramm, I confirmed an interesting class of young persons, thirty-eight in number, and addressed them. They were also addressed by the Rev. Dr. Tyng, the Rector of the parent Parish.

April 5, Wednesday, Evening. ---In St. Timothy's, New York, I preached, confirmed nineteen, and addressed them.

April 6, Thursday, Evening. In the English Mission Chapel of St. George's Chapel, after a Sermon by the Rev. Dr. Tyng, I confirmed thirty-eight, and addressed them.

April 7, Friday, Evening. In the Mission Chapel of St. Thomas' Church, New York, I preached, confirmed forty-eight, and addressed them.

April 8, Saturday, A. M.--At a special ordination in Christ Church, Bay Ridge, L. I., I preached, admitted to the Diaconate Mr. Joseph William Hyde, A. B., and Mr. Charles Carroll Fiske; and I advanced to the Priesthood the Rev. John A. Aspin wall and the Rev. Elliot Dunham Tompkins—the latter of the Diocese of Massachusetts, and ordained by me, at the request of the Right Rev. Bishop Eastburn.

P. M.-I presided at a meeting of the Clergy, which I had called for some expression of feeling in regard to the Right Rev. the late Bishop of Western New York, whose death had been recently announced.

April 9, Sunday before Easter, A. M.-In Christ Church, Brooklyn, I confirmed twenty one being from the Church of the Atonement, Brooklyn), addressing them before and after confirmation.

P. M.-In Christ Church Chapel, Brooklyn, I preached, confirmed fifteen, and addressed them.

Evening.-In the Church of the Holy Trinity, Brooklyn, I confirmed fortysiz, and addressed them (one confirmed also from Grace, Brooklyn Heights).

April 10, Monday before Easter,' Evening.-In St. Mark's, Williamsburgh, I preached, confirmed thirteen, and addressed them.

April 11, Tuesday before Easter, A. M.-In Grace Church, New York, I confirmed sixteen (two of them from the Church of the Redemption), and addressed them.

Evening.-In St. Paul's, Stapleton, S. I., I preached, confirmed eighteen, and addressed them.

April 12, Wednesday before Easter, A. M.-In the Church of the Ascension, New York, I confirmed forty-one, and addressed them.

April 13, Thursday before Easter, A. M.-In St. Paul's, New York, I addressed and confirmed thirty-six, and consecrated at the Holy Communion.

Evening.-In the Holy Innocents, I confirmed sixteen (one of them from St. George's the Martyr), and addressed them, and consecrated at the Holy Communion.

April 14, Good Friday, A. M.-In St. George's, New York, the Rector preaching, I confirmed fifty-five, and addressed them.

Evening.-In Grace Church, Brooklyn Heights, I confirmed fifty-four (and one at Holy Trinity, making fifty-five), and addressed them.

April 15, Easter Even, A. M.-In the Church of the Holy Communion, New York, I confirmed sixty-one, and addressed them.

I issued a Pastoral to the Diocese, occasioned by the assassination of President Lincoln, and appointing prayer for a nation in amiction.

P. M.-In Trinity Church, New York, I confirmed forty-one (one being from St. Stephen's, New York), and addressed them.

Evening.-In St. Ann's, Brooklyn, I confirmed thirty-one, and addressed them.

April 16, Easter Day, A. M.—In St. Luke's, New York, the Rev. Dr.

Forbes, the Associate Rector, preaching, I confirmed twenty-seven, and addressed them, and consecrated the Holy Eucharist.

P. M.-In the Memorial Church of Dr. Anthon, I confirmed five, and addressed them.

Evening. In the Memorial Church of Bishop Wainwright, I confirmed sixty-two (one of them from the Floating Chapel of Our Saviour); and addressed them.

Easter, Evening.-In Calvary Chapel, the Bishop of Western New York, at my request, confirmed fifty-one (fifteen of whom were from the parent Church).

April 17, Monday, P. M.-I issued a Pastoral Letter to the Diocese, recommending services in the churches, to be held on the 19th, at twelve o'clockthe hour appointed for the funeral at Washington of the late lamented President of the United States. I set forth an order of services for the occasion. I also attended a meeting of the Trustees of Columbia College.

Evening.-In Christ Church, Williamsburgh, I confirmed twenty-two, and addressed them.

April 18, Tuesday, P. M.-In Trinity Church, I solennized a marriage.

Evening.-In St. Mary's, Brooklyn, I confirmed thirty-two, and addressed them.

April 19, Wednesday, Noon.—This being the hour appointed for the funeral of President Lincoln at Washington, and for corresponding services in the churches in this city and Diocese, I attended the service at the Church of the Transfiguration, and delivered an address in reference to the event.

P. M.-I officiated in Grace Church, at the funeral of a former parishioner and friend.

Evening.-In St. Luke's, Brooklyn, I confirmed thirty-four, and addressed them.

April 20, Thursday, A. M.-I consecrated the new edifice of the Church of the Incarnation. Sermon by the Right Rev. the Assistant Bishop of Ohio.

P. M.-I baptized an infant.

Evening.-In the Church of St. Saviour, I preached, confirmed sixteen, and addressed them.

April 21, Friday, Evening.-In Emmanuel Church, Brooklyn, I confirmed twenty-one, and addressed them.

April 23, First Sunday after Easter, A. M.-In St. John's Chapel, I confirmed nine ty, and addressed them.

The same A. M.--St. Peter's Church, Brooklyn, was consecrated at my request, by the Right Rev. the Assistant Bishop of Ohio.

P. M.-In Zion Church, N. Y., forty-two (including one from from Connecticut) were confirmed at my request by the Rector, the Right Rev. Bishop Southgate.

Evening.-In Trinity Chapel, I confirmed forty, and addressed them.

April 24, Monday, P. M.—I laid the corner-stone of the new Church of the Redeemer, Brooklyn, the address being delivered by the Right Rev. the Bishop of Western New York.

April 25, Tuesday, Evening.-In St. Matthew's, Brooklyn, I preached, confirmed eight, and briefly addressed them.

April 26, Wednesday, Evening.-- In the Church of the Messiah, Greenbush, I preached, confirmed nine, and addressed them.

April 27, Thursday, A. M.-In the Church of the Holy Cross, Troy, I met. the Northern Convocation.

Evening.-In Grace, Waterford, I preached, confirmed thirty (eight of whom were from Trinity Church, Lansingburgh), and addressed them.

April 28, Friday, P. M.-In St. Peter's, Albany, I confirmed eighteen, and addressed them.

Evening.-In the Holy Innocents, Albany, I confirmed twenty, and addressed them.

April 30, Second Sunday after Easter, A. M.-In St. Thomas' Church, N. Y., after a sermon by the Rector, I confirmed twenty, and addressed them.

P. M.-I attended and officiated at the funeral of the eminent surgeon and good man, Valentine Mott, M. D.

May 19, Friday, P. M.-In All Saints', Briar Cliff, I confirmed seven, and addressed them.

Evening.-In St. Paul's, Sing Sing, I preached, confirmed six, and addressed them.

May 20, Saturday, A. M.-In the Chapel of the Riverdale Institute, I preached, confirmed eight, and addressed them. The Institution I found in admirable order.

May 21, Fifth Sunday after Easter, A. M.-In the Church of the Transfiguration, N. Y., I confirmed twenty-nine (one of them in private), and addressed them. The services were made doubly interesting by a brief parting address from the highly esteemed Rector to his people, at whose spontaneous and most kind suggestion he is to go abroad for a few months, for the benefit of his health, impaired by his arduous and very successful labors.

At three and a half, P. M.--In the Memorial Church of Bishop Wainwright, I baptized an infant child of the Rector.
