As a full and accurate view of the state of the Church, from time to time, is highly useful and necessary, it is hereby ordered that every Minister of this Church, or, if the Parish be vacant, the Wardens, shall present, or cause to be delivered, on or before the first day of every Annual Convention, to the Bishop of the Diocese, or, when there is no Bishop, to the President of the Convention, a statement of the number of baptisms, confirmations, mar. riages, and funerals, and of the number of Communicants in his Parish or Church; also the state and condition of the SundaySchools in his Parish; also the amount of the Communion alms, the contributions for missions, diocesan, domestic, and foreign, for parochial schools, for Church purposes in general, and of all other matters that may throw light on the same. And every Clergyman, not regularly settled in any Parish or Church, shall also report the occasional services he may have performed; and, if he have performed no such services, the causes or reasons which have prevented the same. During the year a subscription of upwards of $20,000 has been made, for the liquidation of the debt incurred in the erection of the new Church edifice. Of this sum, $15,238 has been paid. The congregation has cheerfully assumed the support of an institution for the maintenance and education of orphan and destitute children, for the most part the children of soldiers. It is intended to increase the number of those who share its benefits to 20 or 25. The younger members of the congregation act as teachers in the school. The Church edifice has been enriched by the addition of two very beautiful and valuable windows, of stained glass, as memorials of two deccased members of the Parish. No further items of interest occur as worthy of special mention. It is hoped that the usefulness of the Parish will be promoted by its relief from the pressure of debt. The congre gation has been still further reduced by removals, and no Baptisms or Confirmations can be reported; but the Church is well filled on Sundays, in great part by the students of the Hudson River Institute, and is thought to be doing, in a quiet way, some good service.
