The following Churches applied for admission into union with the Convention:

ST. PAUL'S CHURCH, FRANKLIN, DELAWARE COUnty.

THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY COMFORTER, POUGHKEEPSIE, DUCHESS COUNTY.

THE CHURCH OF THE REDEMPTION, IN THE CITY AND COUNTY OF NEW YORK.

THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS, WARRENSBURGH, WARREN COUNTY.

TRINITY CHURCH, WHITEHALL, WASHINGTON COUNTY.

These applications were referred to the Committee on the Incorporation of Churches.

The Bishop, according to Canon I. of the Diocese, laid before. the Convention a List of the Clergy of the Diocese.

On motion of the Secretary, it was

Resolved, That this Convention respectfully invite the Right Rev. Francis Fulford, D. D., Lord Bishop of Montreal, the Right Rev. William I. Kip, D. D., Bishop of California, and the Right Rev. Joseph C. Talbot, D. D., Missionary Bishop of the Northwest, now in this city, to occupy seats beside the President, whenever they may please to be present during the session.

On motion of the same, it was

Resolved, That, in compliance with Canon VIII. of this Diocese, a Committee be appointed to assist the Bishop in preparing a Report of the State of the Church in this Diocese, and a List of the Clergy to be presented to the General Convention.

The President appointed as this Committee the Secretary, the Assistant Secretary, and the Treasurer of the Convention.

On motion of the Rev. Dr. McVickar, it was

Resolved, That the consideration of the Resolution offered by him at the last Convention, and referred to this Convention, be made the first of miscellaneous business in the order of the day for to-morrow's session.

On motion of the Secretary, it was

i. Resolved, That the present Trustees of the General Theological Seminary, who represent this Diocese, being resident therein, who have served, or have signified their willingness to serve, be nominated to the next General Convention for election as Trustees on the part of this Diocese.

ii. Resolved, That the Standing Committee of this Convention on

the General Theological Seminary report the names of as many other suitable persons as may be necessary to fill the number secured to this Diocese by the Constitution of the Seminary, for nomination to the next General Convention for election as Trustees also on the part of this Diocese.

The Convention then adjourned until nine o'clock to-morrow morning.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH, NINE O'CLOCK, A. M.

The Convention met pursuant to adjournment.

Morning Prayer was said by the Rev. George J. Geer, D. D., rector of St. Timothy's Church, New York, assisted by the Rev. Thomas M. Peters, D. D., rector of St. Michael's Church, New York.

The Secretary informed the Convention that the Bishop of the Diocese was prevented from being present at the commencement of the session, and had requested the Rev. Dr. Haight to take the chair.

The Rev. Dr. Haight took the chair.

The minutes of yesterday's proceedings were read and approved.

Lay Delegates from several Parishes, from which no certificates. were before received, presented certificates, which, in the necessary. absence of the Committee on the subject, were examined by the Hon. John A. King and Hon. Albert Ward, appointed for the purpose. On approval, the Delegates took their seats.*

The certificates from St. Paul's Church, Yonkers, and St. Philip's Church, New York, were reported as containing among their Delegates the names of persons known to be in Deacon's Orders, although the papers were regular in other respects. Whereupon it

Resolved, That so much of the certificates from St. Paul's, Yonkers, and St. Philip's, New York, as concerns Delegates known to be in Deacon's Orders, be referred to the Committee on Canons, to report whether such persons can be received as Delegates. The names of the other Delegates for the parishes were called.

Of the Clergy, not present yesterday, several appeared and took their seats.*

The Convention proceeded to the Election of the Standing Committee of the Diocese, and of the Missionary Committee.

The names of the Clergy were called by the Secretary; and of the Churches, by the Assistant Secretary.

The members having deposited their ballots, the Tellers retired to count the votes.

The Committee on the Examination of the Certificates of Lay Delegates reported that a certificate had been presented from St. Alban's Church, New York, which Church is not on the List of Churches in union with this Convention.

The Secretary having stated that St. Alban's Church was supposed to be the same as that before known as the Church of the Intercessor, New York, having so changed its name,

On the motion of the same, it was

Ordered, That the certificate from St. Alban's Church, New York, be referred to the Committee on the Incorporation of Churches, to examine whether the proper legal steps have been taken for changing the name of said Church from that of the "Church of the Intercessor" to that of "St. Alban's Church ;", and whether it is expedient for such change to be made in the list of the Churches of the Diocese; and if so, to report a Resolution requiring this to be done.
