SABBATH. them is, and resteth the seventh day : wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath-day, and hallowed it.

(Exod. xx. 8-11. Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thine handmaid and the stranger may be refreshed.

SACRAMENT.

The Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread; and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood : this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

SALVATION.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised : so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God : he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him even into his ears.

[Ps. xviii. 2-6. For God saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is pro. fitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instructinn in righteousness; that the man of God may b: perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

[2 Tim. iii. 16, 17. Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read : no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate : for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

SECRECY.

God's eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.

SERVANTS.

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, be. cause they are brethren ; but rather do them service because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. [ Tim. vi. 1, 2.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sin. gleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eye. service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good-wil doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: know. ing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

[Eph. vi. 5-8. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men pleasers ; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men ; know. ing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance : for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done : and there is no respect of persons. [Col. iii, 22-25.

Let servants be obedient unto their own masters, and please them well in all things; not answering again; not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity ; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

He that hath knowledge spareth his words : even a fool when he holdeth his peace is counted wise, and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understand. ing.

SIN.

If thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.

(Gen. iv. 7. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, por sit. teth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his sea. son; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous : but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
