107 Q. What doth the conclusion of the Lord's prayer teach us?

A. The conclusion of the Lord's prayer, which is, "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever, Amen," teacheth us to take encouragement in prayer from God only a, and in our prayers to praise himb, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to him; and in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen c.

a Dan. ix. 18. We do not present our supplication before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. 19. O Lord, hear; 0 Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God.

b 1 Chron. xxix. 11. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory; and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven, and in the earth, is thine. 13.

Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

c Rev. xxii. 20. Amen; even so, come, Lord Jesus!

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

OUR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever, Amen.

MORNING PRAYER.

O LORD, bless me in my learning this day, that I may every day grow more fit for thy service. EVENING PRAYER.

O LORD, have mercy upon me, and forgive whatsoever thou hast seen amiss in me this day past; and for the time to come give me grace to fly all youthful lusts, and to remember thee my Creator in the days of my youth. Lord, receive me, and all my friends and relations, into thy gracious protection this night; and send me such seasonable rest, that I may rise the next morning more fit for thy service. Our Father, &c.
