3 Rom. viii. 7. The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Col. i. 21. And you that were Tometime alienated, and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white ftone, and in the lone a new name written, which no man know. eth, faving he that receiveth it. Chap. iii. 12. Him that overcometh. will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he jhull go no more our: and I will write upon hin the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalern, which cometh dowo out of heaven from my God, and I will write upon him my new name.

6 Eccl. i.9. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be ; and that which is done, is that which ihail be done : and there is no new thing under the fua. 7

2 Cor. v. 17. If any min be in Christ, he is a new creature : old things are part away ; beho.d, all things are become new. Rev, xxi. 5. And he that fat upon the throne, faid, Behold, I make all things new.

8 Rom. vii. 18. For I know, that in me, (thit is, in my fem) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good, I find not.

1 Rom. vii. 14,--20. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, fold under fin. For that which I do, I allow not : for that I would, that I do not ; but what I hate that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I coulent unto the law, that it is good Now then, it is no more I that do it, but lin that dwelleth in me. For I know, that in me, (that is, in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good, I find not. For the good that I would, I do noi ; but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now, if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but fin that dwelleth in me. 1 Jolin iii. 9. Whosoever is born of God, doth not commit fin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he can: ot sin, because he is born of God.

2 Rom. vii. 21.–25. I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is prelent with me. For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. Bui I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of lin, which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God, through Jelus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself ferve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of fin.

3 Psalm xix. 13. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous fins, let them noi have dominion over me: then thall I be upright, and I fhall be innocent from the great transgreslion. And cxxx. 3. If thou, Lord, shouldlt mark iniquities; O Lord, wino Mall stand ?

4 Pfalm xxvii. 4. One thing bare I desired of the Lord, that will I reek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

5 Palm lxxxiv. 10. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand: I had sather be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tenis of wickedness.

6 Job v u. To set up on high those that be low; that those which moura may be exalted to safety.

Ź Sam. ii. 8. The Lord raise h up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory; for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them. Gen. xxxii. 28. And the angel faid, Thy name Shall be called no more Jacob, but ifrael: for, as a prince thou hast power with God and with men, and hatt prevailed. Rev. i. 5,6. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our lins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and prielts unto God; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Yet more than worlds of golden gain; with a sod of iron: as the vessels of a porter shall they be broken to shivers) even as I received of my Father.

i Psalm cxvi. 16. On, Lord, truly I am thy servant, I am thy servant, and the fon of thy handmaid: thou haft loosed my bonds. Rom. vii 23. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to ihe the law of lin, which is in my members.

2 John iii. 20. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Rom. viii. 1. There is therefore now no condemna. tion to them which are in Christ Jelus, who waik not after the Reih, but after the Spirit. Ver. 33, 34. Who thall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that jullifierh: who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who alio maketh intercellion for us.

3 Gal. iii. 13. Chrift hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us : for it is written, Curied is every one that hangeth on a tree.

4 Rom. iii. 23, 24. For all have sinned, and come shori of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ.

5 Rom. iii. 5. But if our unrighteoulness commend the righteoulness of God, what shall we say? Chap. v. 20, 21. But where fin abounded, grace

did much more abound : that as tin hath reigned unto death, even to might grace reign through righteousness unto cternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

6 Col. 1. 20. And (having made peace through the blood of his cross) by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I lay, whicther they be ining in earth, or things in heaven.

7 The life of lin is our death, 1 Tim. v. 6. But the that liveth in pleasure, is dead while Mhe liveth. The death of Christ our life, 2 Cor. v. 14, i 3. For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge, that it one died for all, then were all dead : and that he died for all, that they which live, thould not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and role again.

8 Rom. vii. 23. See figure 1. Chap. viii. 2. For the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of fin and death.

9 John viii. 36. If the Son therefore snall muke you free, ye Qall be free indeed. Rev. xiv. 13. And I heard a vcice from heaven, tay ng unto me, Wrire, Blefied are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth: Yea, lakh the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them. 2 Cor. v. 4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened:

Though worthless I myself indite,
Yet fhall as worthy walk in white. I

SECT. VI. The Mystery of Free JustiFICATION througb Christ's

Obedience and Satisfaction.
No creature ever could or will

For fin yield satisfaction full ; 2
Yet justice from the creature's hand
Buth fought and got its full demand. 3
Hence though I am, as well I know,
A debtor 4, yet I nothing owe. 5
My creditor has nought to say, 6
Yet never had I aught to pay: 7
He freely pardon'd every mite, 8

Yet would no single farthing quit. 9 not for that we would be uncluthed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be (waioved up of life.

1 Gen. xxxii. 10. I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast jewed unto thy servant ; for with my itaff I palied over this Jordan, and now I am become two bands, Rev. iii. 4. Thou hait a few names even in Saidis, which have not defiled their garments; and they Thall walk with me in white; for they are worthy. 2 Píalm xlix. 8. For the redemption of their foul is precious, and it ceareth

Chrilt hath loved us, and hath given hintelf for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a lweet.Imelling favour.

4 Mar. vi. 12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

5 Rom iii. 24, 25. Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemp. tion that is in Jesus Chrilt; whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation, through faith in his blocd, so declare his righteousnels for the semillion of fins that are pal}, thio'gh the forbearance of God Heb. x. 14. For by one offepog he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

6 Rom. viii. 33, 34. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's clea? It is God that justieth: who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is rifen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who allo maketh intercellion for us.

7 Rom. v. 6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Verle 8. But G d commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet finners, Chriit died for us.

Law-breakers ne'er its curfe have miss'd;

I can't be justified by it, 9

1 Pet. i. 18, 19. Foralin:ch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruprible things, as filver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers ; bat with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without fpo. Eph. 1.7. In whom we have re. demption through his blood, the forgiveness of tins, according to the riches

of his grace.

2 Tim. i. 9. Wizo hath saved us, and ca!led us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jefus, before the world began.

2 Plalm ciii. 3. Who for iveth all chine iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases. And xxv. 11. For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquiry: fös it is very great.. Luke xi. 4. And forgive us our lins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. Dan. ix. 19. O Lord, hear; () Lord, for. give; O Lord, hearken and do ; defer not, for thine own fake, O my God: for thy city, and thy people are called by thy name.

3 Píalm cxix. 120. My fieih treniblech for fear of thee, and I am afraid of thy judgments. Rom. vii. 9. I was alive without the law once : but when the commandment came, tin revived, and I died. Verle 13. Was then that which is good, made death unto me? God forbid. Bue tin, that it might appear lin, working death in me that which is good ; that fin, by the commandment, miglit become exceeding linful.

4 Gal. v. 23. The fruit of the Spirit is-meekne!.. remperance; againit such there is no law. 1 Tim. i 9. Knowing this, thai the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawlets and dilobrdiet, &c.
