I 2 Cor. xii. 9. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Praim lxxiii. 15, 16. If I say, I will speak thus, behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I sought to know this, it was too painful for me, &c. And lxxvii. 8, 9, 10: Is his mercy clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore ? Hath God forgotten to be gracious ? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right-hand of the Most High.
3 Ifa. xlv. 24, 25. Surely, fall one say, In the Lord have I righteousness and strength : even to him thall men come, and all that are incensed against him, shall be ashamed. In the Lord Mall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. Psalm xliv. 6. I will not trust in my bow, neither Thall my sword save me. Verse 8. In God we boast all the day long ; and praise thy name for ever, Selah.
4 Jonah ii. 1, 2. Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the filh's belly, and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of bell cried I, and thou heardit my voice. Ver. 4. Then said I, I am cast out of thy light : yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. Mat. xv. 26, 27, 28. But Jesus answered and said (unto the woman of Canaan) It is not meet to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith : be it unto thee even as chou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. Psalm xlii. 6, 7, 8. O my God, my soul is calt down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Deep calleth unto deep, at the noise of thy water spouts : all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yec the Lord will command his loving-kindness in the day-time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

In those days Hezekiah was lick to the death, and prayed unto the Lord: and he fpake unto him, and he gave him a fign. But Hezekiah rendered not again, accord. ing to the benefit done unto him : for his heart was lifted up; therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem. Notwithstanding, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart (boch he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem) so that the wrath of the Lord came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
i Rom. vii. 7, 8, 9. What Mall we say then? Is the law fin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lutt, except the law had said, Thou shalt no! covet. But sin taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law fin was dead. For I was alive without the law once : but when the command. ment came, fin revived, and I died. Verse 11. For sin taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it flew me. Verse 13. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear fin, working death in me by that which is good ; that sin, by the commandment, might become exceeding sinful.- Where you see the light and feeling of sin killed self. John ix. 39, 40, 41. And Jelus faid, For judgment I am come into this world: that they which see not, might see ; and that they which see, may be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him, heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind allo? Jesus laid unto them, If ve were blind, ye should have no lin: but now ye fay, We fee; therefore your fin remaineth. Psalm lix. 11. Slay them not, left my people forget; Scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.Mat. xxvi. 33. 34. Peter answered and said unto him, 'Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus faith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Verse 75. And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
2 Rom. vi. 21. What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now alhamed ? For the end of those things is death. Pfalmi xix. 11. Moreover, by them (viz. the judgments of the Lord) is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. And lxxiii. 17, 18, 19.
