15 And there was trembling in the host,in the field, and among all the people; the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling. 16 And the watchmen of Saul in Giv eah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another. 17 ¶ Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armour-bearer were not there. 18 And Saul said unto Ahiab, Bring hither the ark of God : (for the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.)

33 T Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the Lonn, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.

44 And Saul answered,God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.

11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lond all night.

SAMUEL also said unto Saul, The Lond sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.

2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I re member that which Amalek did to Is rael, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.

5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.

6 T And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites de parted from among the Amalekites, 7 ¶ And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah, until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.

8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

13 And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the com mandment of the LORD.

14 And Samuel said, What meancil then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.

16 Then Samuel said unto Saul,Stay, and I will tell thee what the Lonr hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on. 17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Is rael, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them, until they be consumed. 19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst: fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LonD sent ine,and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
