TEACHERS' PRIVATE LIBRARY SCHEME: SCRIPTURE COMMENTARIES, &c., AT HALF-PRICE.

THE urgent necessity of Sabbath School Teachers being thoroughly qualified for their work, and a desire to assist them in it, has induced the Publication Committee of the Union to make arrangements with the Religious Tract Society of London, by which a large variety of most valuable books may be supplied to bona fide acting Teachers at onehalf the published prices.

The volumes consist principally of Bible Commentaries, Concordances, and other works which are specially helpful to Sabbath School Teachers in the preparation of their lessons.

The conditions upon which Teachers may benefit by the Scheme,

are

1. Forms of Application must be signed by the Teachers, and countersigned by their School Superintendent or Secretary. 2. Applicants must be in connection with a Society or School affiliated to the Union, (that is, a School which annually reports to the Union,) and the books must be designed for their private

use.

3. The value of the selection, if possible, should not be under 10/ at the retail prices.

4. The necessary amount must be forwarded, along with the Form, by the Teachers' Society Secretary, to MR. ANDrew Crawford, Assistant Secretary, at the Christian Institute, 70 Bothwell Street, Glasgow.

The Committee cherish the hope that Superintendents and Secretaries will co-operate with them in making this Scheme extensively useful.

A full set of specimen volumes may be seen any day, during business hours, at the Office of the Sabbath School Union, No. 7 Room, Christian Institute. The Committee do not keep Stock in Glasgow, and Orders cannot be fulfilled till the volumes are actually paid for, and brought from the London Depôt. To avoid the trouble of numerous small Orders, several Teachers of a school may unite in filling up one Form. Teachers may obtain Application Forms through their Society's Secretary. It is desirable that communications be addressed through him to the Secretaries of the Sabbath School Union, at the Christian Institute, 70 Bothwell Street, Glasgow.
