HYMN XIII.

BLESS' the Lord, O my Soul: O Lord my God, thou art very great, thou art cloathed with Honour and Majefty.

Who covereft thy felf with Light, as with a Garment; who ftretcheft out the Heavens like a Curtain.

Who layeth the Beams of his Chambers in the Waters; who maketh the Clouds his Chariot; who walketh upon the Wings of the Wind.

Who maketh his Angels Spirits; his Minifters a flaming

Fire.

Who laid the Foundations of the Earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

Of old haft thou laid the Foundation of the Earth; and the Heavens are the Work of thy Hands.

They fhall perish, but thou fhalt endure: Yea, all of them fhall wax old like a Garment; as a Vefture shalt thou change them, and they fhall be changed.

But thou art the fame, and thy Years fhall have no End. O Lord, how manifold are thy Works! in Wisdom haft thou made them all; the Earth is full of thy Riches. Thou fendeft forth thy Spirit, they are created; and thou reneweft the Face of the Earth.

The Glory of the Lord fhall endure for ever; the Lord fhall rejoice in his Works.

He looketh on the Earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the Hills, and they fmoke.

I will fing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will fing Praise unto my God, while I have my Being.

Oh! that Men would praife the Lord for his Goodness, and for his wonderful Works to the Children of Men.

For he fatisfieth the longing Soul, and filleth the hungry Soul with Goodness.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their Trouble, and he faved them out of their Diftreffes.

He brought them out of Darkness, and the Shadow of Death, and brake their Bands in funder.

Oh! that Men would praise the Lord for his Goodness, and for his wonderful Works to the Children of Men.

Then they cry unto the Lord in their Trouble, he faved them out of their Diftreffes.

He fent his Word and healed them, and delivered them from their Destructions.

They that go down to the Sea in Ships, that do Bufinefs in great Waters;

Thefe fee the Works of the Lord, and his Wonders in the Deep.

For he commandeth, and raiseth a ftormy Wind, which lifteth up the Waves thereof.

They mount up to the Heaven, they go down again to the Depths, their Soul is melted becaufe of Trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken Man, and are at their Wits end.

Then they cry unto the Lord in their Trouble, and he bringeth them out of their Diftreffes.

He maketh the Storm a Calm, fo that the Waves thereof are ftill.

Then are they glad, because they be quiet; fo he bringeth them unto their defired Haven.

Oh! that Men would praife the Lord for his Goodness, and for his wondrous Works to the Children of Men.

Let them exalt him alfo in the Congregation of the People, and praife him in the Affembly of the Elders.

He turneth Rivers into a Wilderness, and the Water Springs into dry Ground.

A fruitful Land into Barrennefs, for the Wickedness of them that dwell therein.

He

He turneth the Wilderness into a ftanding Water, and dry Ground into Water Springs.

And there he maketh the Hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a City for Habitation.

He poureth Contempt upon Princes, and caufeth them to wander in the Wilderness, where there is no Way.

Yet fetteth he the Poor on high from Affliction, and maketh him Families like a Flock.

The Righteous fhall fee it, and rejoice; and all Iniquity fhall ftop her Mouth.

Whofo is wife, and will obferve thefe Things, even they fhall understand the loving Kindness of the Lord.

HYMN XV.

God, my Heart is fixed, I will fing and give Praise, even with my Glory.

Awake Pfaltery and Harp: I my felf will awake early. I will praife thee, O Lord, among the People; and I will fing Praifes unto thee among the Nations.

For thy Mercy is great above the Heavens; and thy Truth reacheth unto the Clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the Heavens; and thy Glory above all the Earth;

That thy Beloved may be delivered: Save with thy right Hand, and answer me.

Praife ye the Lord. I will praife the Lord with my whole Heart, in the Affembly of the Upright, and in the Congregation,

He hath made his wonderful Works to be remembred; the Lord is gracious, and full of Compaffion.

He hath given Meat unto them that fear him; he will ever be mindful of his Covenant.

He hath fhewed his People the Power of his Works, that he may give them the Heritage of the Heathen.
