That the publicans e-harlots go into the gdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you on the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. 33 "I Hear another parable; There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and digged a wine-press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of

it. 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36. Again he sent other serwants more than the first: and *; did unto them likewise. 7 But last of all, he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the ir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and

cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. 40 When the Lord, therefore, of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husband

men! .41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those

wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes' 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken : but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cesar the things which are Cesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. 22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. 23 T The same day came to him the Sadducees which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24 Saying, Master, Moses said. 1 Of the scribes and Pharisees' good doctrine, but evil examples of life....34 The destruction of Jerusalem foretold.

THEN spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat : 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do: but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens, and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men : they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men,

Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth : for one is your ather which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters : for one is your Master, even Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you, shall be your serVant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself, shall be abased ; and he that shall humble himself, shall be exalted. 13 || But wounto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go In

14 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer : therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. 15 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites for ye compass sea and land to so one proselyte; and when he is

made, i. make him, two fold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16 Wo unto you, ye blind . .guides ' which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is o but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. 17. Ye fools, and blind; for whether is greater, the gold, or i. omple that sanctifieth the go 18 And whosoevershall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but

whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. 19 Ye fools, and blind for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? 20 Whoso, therefore, shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. 21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. 22 And he that shall swearby heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. 23 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these oughtye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. 25 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. 27 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. 29. Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites' because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the o: 30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been o with them in the blood of the proph

ND Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples, came to him, for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them See ye not all these things? Verily, I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 TI And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world ! 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars, and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled : for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom : and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and . earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one
