The following work, prepared in reference to this deficiency, is to be regarded simply as an introduction to further research in the chronological study of the Holy Scriptures. Brevity was indispensable within the limits assigned to the author, and this circumstance may be fairly pleaded in reference to many defects in the treatise, particularly the omission of certain important critical questions. It would have been easier to write two volumes than one on the progress of Revelation. |
