in prudence to rely on finishing the course of this year, which you are now entering And whether you ought not So to begin it, as to refolve that it fhall be a new year to you, in the most christian and beneficial fenfe. This we certainly owe to the diftinguishing providence of GOD, whofe goodness in our preservation calls for the thanks of living to his glory. This we certainly owe to ourselves, whofe happiness depends upon well-doing; and whofe time otherwise employed, ferves only to increase the miseries of eternity.

Let the time past of our lives therefore fuffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles; and to have indulged the fenfual inclinations of our hearts. And let us fo number the days that are yet to come, as to apply our thoughts unto true wif

dom;-to that wisdom which is from above, and which feeks the things that are above. Things that will endure, when weeks, months, and years fhall be no more; but things that are fitted to make us happy, who fhall likewise survive the ruins of time. To the enjoyment of which things-even a glorious inheritance referved in Heaven for us. GOD, of his infinite mercy, bring us all, through JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, to whom with the FATHER, and the HOLY GHOST, be ascribed all honour, &c. Amen.

BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.

IT is manifeftly of the utmost impor

tance, that every Chriftian be well instructed, and firmly fettled in the Faith: that he be fully perfuaded, and thoroughly convinced, by good arguments, of the truth and Authority of the Gospel. And good arguments indeed there are, drawn both
