And God by Ezekiel xxxviii. 21, 22. fpeaking of Gog, and his army, fays, I will call for a fword against him, ' &c. every man's fword fhall be against his brother and I will plead against him with • peftilence and blood: and I will rain upon • him and his bands, &c. an over-flowing rain, and great hail-ftones, fire and brimftone. And Zechariah xiv. 12, 13, 16, &c. fays, this fhall be the plague, wherewith the Lord fhall fmite all the people that have ‘fought against Jerufalem: their flesh shall confume away, while they stand on their feet, and their eyes in their holes, and their 'tongue in their mouth, &c. &c. So that they shall be confumed by peftilence and fire from the Lord, and fhall alfo quarrel and fight one against another. Ezekiel xxxix. 25, 28. And this restoration feems to be brought about by his fending those of the army of Gog, which escaped that terrible destruction, to all the nations afar off, to tell his deeds and to declare his glory. I will ga<ther all nations, and they shall come, and fee my glory, &c. and I will fend those that escape of them, unto the nations, and to the ifles afar off, that have not heard my fame, &c. and they shall declare my glory among the Gen tiles, and bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord, out of all nations, upon horfes, and in chariots, &c. to my holy mountain Jerufalem, faith the Lord, Isaiah lxvi. 15 to 21. • And • And how glorious their restoration will be, the following prophecies declare. In • that day the Lord fhall fet his hand again the fecond time, to recover the remnant of • his people, &c. &c. Ifaiah xi. 11 to 15. And in another place, Surely the ifles fhall wait for me, &c. to bring thy Sons from • far, &c. &c. Isaiah lx. 9, 10. xlix. 22, 23. • And again, at that time they shall call Je'rufalem the throne of the Lord, &c. &c. Jer. iii. 17, 18. And once more, in thofe days &c. ten men fhall take hold, out of all languages of the nations, of the fkirt of him that is a Jew, faying, we • will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you. Zech. viii. 23. For the ranfomed of the Lord fhall return, and come to Zion, with fongs, and everlasting joy on their heads, &c. Ifaiah xxxv. 10.'
