A peculiar use of Decimals. (T. S.) When any given sum of money is to be divided among any number of persons, in proportion to each person's debi, claim, rate, profit or demand, a multiplier may be found, by which the same answer will be produced as by a stating in proportion. To find it, divide the whole sum thus be divided, by ihe amount of all the claims, &c. &c. the answer thus produced will be the decimal multiplier, by which each debt, claim, &c. must be multiplied, and the answer must be reduced to its prom per value. per 16, ?
