10lb Avoirdupois weight of distilled water, weighed 1 AIR, at the temperature of sixty-two degrees of FAHRENHEIT'S Thermometert, the Barometer being at thirty inches, is one gallon.§ which is 277,274 square inches-the Gauger's Points 16,65.

These Prices are for the Wine only, the duty is also to be paid. An instrument for measuring the heat of the AIR, or any matter. An instrument for measuring the weight of the ATMOSPHERE, and also shews the changes of the weather.

This is the only Standard Measure of Capacity, from which all ther Measures of Capacity are derived, as well for WINE, Beer, ale, Spirits, and all sorts of Liquors, and dry goods NOT HEAPED.

UN is a term used, being equal to to 2 BUTTS (216 GALLONS but there are no such Vessels in use.

THIS TUN of Liquor (as it is called) weighs 216fb. which, added to the weight of the 2 Casks, will rather exceed a regular Ton of 20 Cwt. or 22401b.

N. B. The price of a Butt of Eeer is 135s. Stout, 165s. Double Stout, 195s. to Publicans, and 15s. more to other persons. Ale is 60, 70, and 80s. per Barrel. A Merchant who exports is alowed a discount of £5 Cent. and the Drawback also.

The Bushel for EVERY ARTICLE is 18 Inches Inside, and 81 Inches deep; but it must be made so as to measure 19 Inches from outside to outside; viz. the rim must be Half an Inch, and is to be heaped to e height of six inches in the shape of A CONE; the outside of the bushel to be the extremity of the base of such cone. The goods may rest upon, but not hang over the outside of the bushel.
