WHITSUNDAY.

GOD, who as at this time didst teach the hearts of thy faithful people, by the sending to them the light of thy Holy Spirit; grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort, through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, world without end.

TRINITY SUNDAY.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hast given unto us thy servants grace by the confession of a true

faith to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity; we beseech thee, that thou wouldest keep us stedfast in this faith, and evermore defend us from all adversities, who livest and reignest, one God, world without end.

"The LORD killeth, and maketh alive; he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth 66 up."-1 Sam. ii. 6.-See also Exodus xv. 26. Deut. xxxii. 39. 2 Chron. xvi. 12, 13. Ps. xxxix. 11. 13.-xxx. 2, 3

"Diseases are God's ministers and messengers. They visit us at his command: and at his command they retire, and we recover."— Bishop Horne.

O LORD, look down from heaven, behold, visit, and relieve the sick member of this family. Look upon

him with the eyes of thy mercy; give him comfort and sure confidence in thee; defend him from the danger of the enemy; and keep him in perpetual peace and safety, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hear us, Almighty and most merciful God and Saviour: extend thy accustomed goodness to this thy servant, who is grieved with sickness. Sanctify, we beseech thee, this thy Fatherly correction to him; that the sense of his weakness may add strength to his faith, and seriousness to his repentance. That if it shall be thy good pleasure to restore him to his former health, he may lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory. Or else, give him grace so to take thy visitation, that after this painful life ended, he may dwell with thee in life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A THANKSGIVING for the RECOVERY of any Member of the Family from Sickness.

O ALMIGHTY God, we give thee humble and hearty thanks for that thou hast vouchsafed to deliver thy servant, our brother, from his bodily pain, to raise him up from the bed of sickness, and prolong his days here on earth. Grant, we beseech thee, most merciful Father, that he, through thy help, may both faithfully live, and walk according to thy will, in this life present; and also may partaker of everlasting glory in the life to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
