our Sovereign King GEORGE, with the whole Royal Family, from all treasons and conspiracies. Preserve him in thy faith, fear, and love. Prosper his reign with long happiness here on earth, and crown him with everlasting glory hereafter. Let truth and justice, brotherly kindness and charity, devotion and piety, concord and unity, with all other virtues, so flourish among us, that they may be the stability of our times, and make this Church a praise in the earth. All which we humbly beg for the sake of our blessed Lord and Saviour.

Almighty and everlasting God, whose righteousness is like the strong mountains, and thy judgments like the great deep; and who, by various examples, hast taught us, that neither the greatest nor the best of men, are

more secure from violence than from natural death; teach us also hereby so to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. And grant, that neither the splendour of any thing that is great, nor the conceit of any thing that is good in us, may withdraw our eyes from looking upon ourselves as sinful dust and ashes; but that we may press forward to the prize of the high calling that is before us, in faith and patience, humility and meekness, mortification and self-denial, charity and constant perseverance unto the end: And all this, for thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ his sake; to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end.

God of peace, make us perfect in every good work to do thy will, work

ing in us that which is well-pleasing in thy sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Thou, even thou art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host; the earth and all things that are therein; the seas and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, and glorify thy Name, for thou only art holy?— Lord, hear our voice: let thine ear

be attentive to the voice of our supplication. Let our prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and the lifting up of our hands, as the evening sacrifice. We heartily thank thee for that thou hast preserved us in our going out and coming in, during the past day, and given us bread to eat, and raiment to put on. Through thee have we been holden up ever since we were born. Praised be the Lord daily; even the God who helpeth us, and poureth his benefits upon us. But above all, we bless and praise thee for having given thine only Son, to be unto us both a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life. Give us grace, that we may always most thankfully receive that his inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavour ourselves to follow the blessed steps of his most holy
