life, through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.-Teach us to do the thing that pleaseth thee; for thou art our God. Let thy loving Spirit lead us forth into the land of righteousness.

O Almighty God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men; grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Almighty and everlasting God, who art always more ready to hear, than we to pray, and art wont to give more than either we desire or deserve; pour down upon us the abundance of thy mercy, forgiving

us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us, this day, our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.

Almighty and everlasting God, we are taught by thy holy Word, that the hearts of Kings are in thy rule and governance, and that thou dost dispose and turn them as it seemeth

govern

best to thy godly wisdom; we humbly beseech thee so to dispose and the heart of GEORGE, thy servant, our King and Governour, that in all his thoughts, words, and works, he may ever seek thy honour and glory; and study to preserve thy people committed to his charge, in wealth, peace, and godliness. Grant this, O merciful Father, for thy dear Son's sake, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Into thy hands, O thou Keeper of Israel, who never slumberest nor sleepest, we commend our persons and our substance. Suffer no evil to befal us, nor any plague to come nigh our dwelling. Give thy Angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways. We will lay ourselves down in peace, and take our rest: for it is thou, Lord only, that makest us dwell in safety.

Now unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

THURSDAY MORNING.

O THOU, whose Name alone is JEHOVAH, who art the Most High over all the earth, the God that heareth prayer, thou art our God: early will we seek thee. Hearken unto the voice of our cry; for unto thee will we pray. Thou retainest not thine anger for ever, because thou delightest in mercy. Remember not, Lord, our offences, nor the offences of our forefathers; neither take thou vengeance of our sins; spare us, good Lord, spare thy people, whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood, and be not angry with us for ever. From all evil
