Vereas We cannot but be deeply Sensible ofthe great Goodness and Mercy of Almighty God, in putting an End to a Long, Bloody and Erpentive War, by the Conclufion of an Honourable Peace, fo We

great Bleffings and Deliverances, Impiety, Prophaneness and Immozalitý do ftill abound in this Dur Kingdom: And whereas nothing can prove a greater Dishonour to a well ozdered Government, where the Chriftian Faith is Profelled, noz is likelier to provoke God to withdzaw his Mercy and Bleffings from Us, and infead thereof, to inflict heavy and severe Judgments upon this Kingdom, than the open and avowed Practice of ice, 3mmozality and Prophaneness, which among many Men has too much prevailed in this Dur Kingdom of late Pears, to the high Displeasure of Almighty God, the great Scandal of Chriftianity, and the ill and fatal Example of the rest of Dur Loving Subjects, who have been Soberly Educated, and whole Inclinations would lead them to the Exercile of Piety and Wirtue, did they not daily find füch frequent and repeated Inftances of Diffolute Living, Prophaneness and Impiety, which has in a great Measure been occafioned by the Neglect of the Magiftrates not putting in Execution those good Laws which have been made för Suppzelling and Punithing thereof, and by the ill Example of many in Authority, to the great Dishonour of God, and Reproach of our Religion: Wherefoze, and foz that we cannot expect Increate oz Continuance of the Bleflings We and Dur Subjects Enjoy, without Provid ing Remedies to prevent the like evils fog the future, We think Dur Selves bound
