The Letters (A) and (D), after a Teacher's name, indicate (A) that his School is entitled to a Grant for the purchase of Scientific Apparatus (Minutes of 1852-3, vol. 1, p. 154); and (D) that he, or she, holds a Certificate of Competency as a Teacher of Drawing (Minute of 28 January 1854).
