last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." Now, as death still exists, Christ has yet work to do to destroy this last enemy. The waiting and watching still go on. The mountain is there, the stone that is being cut without hands is there, the image is there, the Lord Jesus (the stone) is there, God the Father is there, God the Holy Ghost is there, the dead are sleeping there in their graves, we are now living on earth. Oh! my friends, what awful scenes, what awful trials await us. Let us prepare ourselves for these things.

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

"Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

"To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever." Amen. (Jude 20, 21, 24, 25.)

112 The Kingdoms of Iron and Clay.

After Daniel had given the interpretation of this wonderful and awful dream, we are told in Scripture: (Dan. ii. 46-49).

"Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

"The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

"Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

"Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king."
